Bouillon cube with dark fruit undertones. Over-the-hill; down the drain it went.

Cooked. Or stewed. Either way, not good.

Needed a nice Cab to accompany an awesome dinner of braised lawn shank. Braised lamb called for something smooth so I went deep and pulled this 12 year old. Letting it breathe for a couple hours before dinner was a good call because we were rewarded with a very nice wine and as hoped for, a perfect match with dinner. Nice in the glass with a little ring of lightness at the top but no off color. Burt toast was …

Inky red color. Aromas of leather, blackberry, plum and Asian spices. Full-bodied, with chalky tannins and flavors of red fruit and plums. Nice finish.

Notes as before. A lovely modern big Napa Cab Sauv that's enjoyable now (probably best with beef roast or other big food). Still good tannins for the table. 89 pts drink up now.

Decanted 30 mins. Pristine clean cork, no sediment. Thin fairly fast 12% legs. Look: Brick red '04 color. Nose: VERY SUBDUED. Lt. Cherry; later vanilla, clay, earth, herb, eucalyptus. Body: 2.5% to 3% milk. Taste: Black cherry, eucapyptus, blackberry, cedar, cigar box, tobacco, slight heat; later on slight grilled meat and brick. Big tannins on the end. Smooth. Finish: 50 seconds. 89+ pts. Recommend decant 1+ hr. Very impressive color and taste holding up for a 2001. Ok drink now …

Fruity and not very complex. Decent pour decanting didn't add much.

nose - gorgeous nose of sweet berry with hints of sweet oak, tea, floral per duane mouth - very well balanced, delcious red fruit, dry sappy midpalate, cornucopia of fruit reminiscent of fruit punch.

Decanted for about an hour....much much bette than my bottle on 11/26/2009. Still had Big Big earthy, muddy, leathery nose with a huge dark chocolate punch. Definately tons of dark chewy chocolate, hints of berries. long finish, and this bottle had no heat. Good to the last drop...

A Classic Peju Cab, and 2001 was a GREAT year. This wine is holding up well, and should be good for another few years. Bold on the nose, strong ripe tannins, lots of dark fruit forward. Starts bold, grabs you with complex mouth-feel, and finishes strong! This is NOT a Cab for the smooth, soft, mellow crowd. Decanted for only 20 minutes (would recommend more decant time), but still blew away our guests.

Was very excited to have on Thanksgiving. Decanted for 2 hours. Color was a bit on brownish side....had a big nose, oak and alcohol. It was a bit hot, but mellowed with time. Dry dry cab, had very earlthy, leathery taste. I have had Peju before and this bottle did not stack up to other years.

Consistent with previous note. Nice finish with drying tannins. Time in bottle really seems to turn these Peju wines more elegant, calming the heavy oak and ripe fruit.

Ruby red, nor real signs of aging. Red fruits and some dill on the nose. Cherry, cassis and some green peppercorn on the palate, medium acidity, medium finish. benefited with some air.
