Flinty, volcanic, mineral quality to the nose, with some red fruit lurking behind. A bit sulfuric as well, although that decreased with air. Palate opens with almost sweet ripe strawberry and blueberry, then quickly dries into minerality and grippy tannins. Lengthy finish of chalky tannins and lingering acidity. A high-quality wine that demands some rich, unctuous food to cut through - a bit aggressive for sipping on its own for my tastes.

Funky upon opening, blew off with air. Really meaty like a Syrah and irony like a Corsican wine. Not bad per se but also not my cup of tea
