Really dark for a zin. Baked plum, oak spice, and leather nose. Medium-plus body, cranberries, black pepper, dark cherry, nutmeg, dry tannins, good acid, smoke, and a long, slightly sappy finish. Drink up.

Big, bold and rich. Black cherry and plum. A bit too long in the cellar but still quite nice.

Inky magenta. Crushed blueberries, spice and cedar nose. Medium bodied, black cherries, dirty cranberries, pepper, fully integrated tannins, good acid, dark chocolate, and a nice fruity and dry finish. Good, but some of their other single vineyards zins are better.

Still a little young — was kinda light on flavor and maybe a little grassy/earthy tasting. Really opened up the second night after it had been opened for a few hours. The last glass finally started getting more complex

Exquisite for two days!! Full-bodied and peppery, long finish!! Like a mouthful of a "memory" of raspberry jam!

Zin the way it should be -- not over-ripe, briary berry flavors, a touch of oak and a long finish.

- Garnet color with slow forming legs with a medium/full body. Linear texture with a medium finish - Nice smooth and not heavy zin. Drinking well in 2013 with no signs of degradation. Should be good for 2-3 years.

If you're not a fan of heavy, jamy zins, then this one is for you. I used to really like that jam. But as my palette changed, I prefer zins in this style. It allows the classic pepper characteristic of zins to really come through...a trait I like. Overall, I feel this wine is balanced and great to have with anything on the grill.

A weak nose of some read fruits and maybe spice. Both were slightly more evident on the palate, but this was generally less than we expected. Well made and balanced just not interesting or particularly food friendly.

Very little nose, hardly any fruit. Not what I'm looking for in a DCV Zin. Opened up someewhat after 2 hours, so perhaps significant decanting is in order next time.

Delicious fruit bomb. Loads and loads of nice fruit. A little spice on the nose. Medium finish. I just bought more at a deeply discounted price.

very nice zin, good flavors 87, but after a rather short period of time the wine fell flat, so much so that neither Joe or I finished our second glass. This was very unusual to say the least, not sure what to make of it. There are many zins that I like better and certainly none that have fallen flat so soon, don't think I would irsk buying another bottle.

Lacks any concentration of berry and spice found in better Zins, but pleasant. The finish reveals more alcohol than I prefer.

very nice zin, but not big (IMO) like some commentators, drank it with a mazzocco maple zin which was much bigger, smoother

Big, interesting nose but was let down after the first sip. A little disjointed at first, but settled down after an hour. Just an ok zin.

This is an OK Zin but I it took a while to open up and it really had no impressive features. A nice table wine but I expected more. Typical nice spicy Zin nose, just less forward than I like.

Nose: Loads of creme brulee, some raspberries, hint of cherries: Palate: Ripe cherries on the attack, rush of heat, acid, and tannins on the mid-palate. A little disjointed, but good nevertheless, thanks to an abundance of sweet, refreshing fruit.
