Opened early. Quite a deep red with good fruit on the nose. The palate showed dark berry and cherry fruits but, as with earlier vintages, there was plenty of acidity and the tannins were quite soft. A decent value, simple, but characterful wine that was good with food (bbq lamb chops).

Again from magnum. Juicy, sweet, glossy with limited depth and complexity. Also lacks a bit of freshness and energy. 84-86

Consumed from a magnum over several days. Agree with most of the tasting notes below. Have not had a magnum of Porta nor the 2015 before. I found it to have soft tannins, to be a bit flabby, mushy and lacking acidity compared to the 2016's and 2017's 750 ml that had more bite and I have appreciated in the past. Vanilla, plumb, raspberry. Perhaps too sweet for my taste. Nonetheless drinkable and good QPR, but I prefer the younger …

Vanilla bomb. Plumbs, raspberries, and sweetness. Moderate tannins and low acidity. Short aftertaste. Drinkable, and probably good QPR for the six bucks I spent on it, but I won't be buying it again.

From magnum. Red and dark fruit on the nose, spices. On the palate generous and linear, quite sweet, well integrated acidity, soft tannins. Lacks complexity, lift and tension, a bit flabby and heavy, but at under £10.50 a magnum it’s excellent value. 85-87

A little too much alcohol, nice hint of mulberry, more than fine for this more than modest price

Fun wine for the price, not a serious wine but plenty to make a great food wine. Great for price point.

The label is a lovely reminder of travel to Lisbon, and for $10 the wine is fine too. Still, this is pretty soft and mushy, a tad sweet and over-ripe fruited for my taste. Not loving it, but working just fine with weeknight dinner...

This one does not quite have the depth and intensity we have experienced from other value Portuguese red blends. It is not terrible, but just a touch pedestrian. Has superb dark purple color. Relatively shy nose with alcohol first but also some violets, plum, fresh turned black dirt and blackberry. The fruit approach is mild blueberry and plum that to its credit, grows with swirling and swishing. The acid has the guts to keep thing interesting. Just a smidgen away …

Simple, one dimensional. Youthful, purple edge, red centre, no sediment. Quite like a Beaujolais nouveau but with Tempranillo. Cigar box, jam and fruit. Well balanced acidity. Not to my taste.

Not a fan. Very simple plum/blueberry, bit of icky cloying chemical, not much else. Maybe okay as a mixer.

Ruby with purple tinges. Muted plum aromas, the palate is plump and sweet with damson, blueberry and blackberry flavours. Lacks any secondary flavours and tannic grip. Easy drinking but a bit one dimensional.

There's nothing wrong with this wine. It's fragrant, soft, and plump with black fruits. And though it's a Portuguese tempranillo blend, it's way too flabby to be even recognizable to me as such. I believe it's inexpensive and probably would appeal to a lot of people, but it seemed coarse and heavy to me and I couldn't find a way to make it work.13.5% ABV. 50% Aragonez, 40% Castelão and 10% Touriga Nacional

Really enjoyable easy to drink wine. Quite aromatic with violets and berry aromas. Full of fruit, almost jammy but not cloying, with soft tannins, cocoa and palate cleansing fresh acidity.

This wine is incredible value for money. It's pretty smooth, with medium tannins, and lots of blackberries and spicy dark fruit.
