Marchand & Tawse / Pascal Marchand Vosne-Romanée

Dreamy upon opening, but tightened up one hour in. Still, delicious village wine with some spiciness and dark fruit. Opened from magnum, more notes to follow tomorrow. There was very little left of the magnum on day 2. The last two glasses were all one could hope for. I think this could still use a few more years, especially in magnum.

As good as a 2007 Remoissenet Vougeot from magnum. This bottle, also from magnum, was quite good although still not ready. Similar notes to last time with slightly more maturity.

From magnum. Still quite young with a tannic backbone and lots of fruit. Some tertiary notes are starting to creep in, but this is still too dense and chewy to have reached its peak yet. Hold for 2 more years.

bel colore, corpo sottile, ma appena metti il naso dentro.... ooooh!! Mi ricordavo altri profumi a Vosne, da uve del Suchots di Grivot!! SOLO LEGNO investe il naso, la sensazione di qualcosa che ti scappa di mano.... e in bocca la 2009 si tramuta in un soffio alcolico che si asciuga all' aria... e ti lascia lì di stucco!!! Dov è finito il vino?? Sinceramente sono basito che produttori simili possano vendere vini a quel prezzo solo perché scrivono Vosne-Romanée …

PH Wine Merchant Burg Night (Atlanta) : Grapes from Jean Grivot, includes some Les Suchots. Intensity of the 09 vintage shows here, dark in color, dark in character. Cellar sawdust, stems and oak are evident, so young, good bones.
