See CCBrown3s note in 2013. Really enjoyable. I think it's holding at peak. Got better with an hour of air.

The wine is a dark garnet to purple color. The very nice nose has blackberries, smoked meat, black pepper, cedar, cherries, dried herbs, and forest floor. This has a medium body, moderate tannins, and very nice acidity. The palate is a bit brighter than the nose lead me to expect with the fruit more in the cherry to raspberry range with a load of spice and slowly building earthiness. The finish has decent length but is losing some of the …

The wine is a dark ruby to maroon color. There are blackberries, cherries, black pepper, baking spices, cedar, licorice, dried herbs, with hints of smoked meat, and earthy notes on the very inviting nose. This is medium to full body with ripe, integrated tannins and very nice acidity. The wine is very nice and refined on the palate, loads of fruit and spice with dried herbs and earthiness in the background. Decent length on the finish which I wish was …

Popped and poured with mostaciolli and meat sauce. Consistent with other bottles and great QPR.

Deep maroon color. Blackberries, licorice, pepper, cedar, baking spices, dried herbs, and a touch of cherry and earthy elements on the nose. Medium to full body with solid, ripe tannins and very nice acidity. Nice spicy, peppery berries with dried herbs coming in on the back end. Nice length on the finish. Not overly complex but very tasty and a steal at $18. Per the winery 50% syrah with Cabernet, Merlot, Zinfandel, Grenache, and Mourvedre comprising the other 50%.

Great right out of the bottle. Jo loved it and finished 2+ glasses before I finished my first.

One of the funnest wines I've had in a while. Basically a Cotes-du-Rhone style wine, with a California splash of Zin thrown in. A very good CdR, though. I wouldn't call this a great QPR in general, as very good CdR wines are usually in the $15 range. It is pretty amazing QPR for a California wine, for what that's worth. Extremely interesting Syrah+Zin nose and a fun taste with some nice length and enjoyable tannins.

Once again one of the great QPR wines. For the price you would be very hard pressed to find better. Drank with eggplant parm. Previous notes stand. No need to expand except that 10 months since last pop these are still somewhat youthful. Drinking very well but no need to rush this fruit forward, still tannic, well integrated red blend (50% syrah, rest Cab, merlot, zin, gren. and mourv. - real mutt of a blend but it works!!)

Immediately after opening there is some nice mint, then the nose gains some oak and meaty aromas. Very bright and juicy on the palate, this is hard to stop drinking. Very fine.

Totally improved wine since last tasting...or I have become easier to please (unlikely)...good light blue/black berry fruit nose with cool sweet fragrance...tannins have softened a touch even though less than 6 months since last tasting...I tasted earlier than my last note of waiting a year (what can you do...it is good stuff now!)...get pencil shavings, a little menthol, little tobacco at the end...excellent value as always...a real treat...I am moving this up to 92 pts (perhaps I am just in …

Stefania Tasting at The Backyard Bistro! (Bordentown, NJ) : Popped and poured again, gorgeous deep, rich, garnet color in the glass! The nose of this wine is absolutely insane, and is all over the place. Unfotuantely, I was trying to get my nose notes taken while I was cooking the Flannery sliders on the grill, so I smelled a lot of BBQ! ;-) But from the audio notes I recorded on my Blackberry, this showed very similar to my other …
