Laurel Glen Reds

Rusty purple appearance. Very meaty on the nose with some pepper and spice and a bit of sour cherry. Not much going on until a pretty decent finish with some tannins, oak and spice.

Terrific value. Nice fruit on the nose and palate, more complexity than expected at that price, medium to fill bodied red that paired well with dinner. We had to special order 6 bottles at the State store to get this stuff- glad we did.

Much more serious than its price tag would lead you to believe. Or, to explain, it needs some time to open up and show of its fruit and fat. With two hours open (or vigorous bottle shaking -- this what what screw caps are for, no?) it takes on some nice blackberry fruit with notes of vanilla oak. Good complexity, grippy little finish. For $9 this is a hell of a bottle of wine.

Dark, Inky red color. Leather, spice, red currant, blueberry on the nose. Anise, red berry taste, smooth tannins, spicy finish

blackberries, leather and black pepper on the nose... dark fruit on the palate... mild peppery finish, enough body to hold up with dinner, but not overpowering

Chunky and red. Not bad for $9.

On the nose, blackberry rasberry mix, a little medicinal smell to it. Bit tight....good legs. Good fruit taste once it opened up a bit. Bit jammy, rasberry jam. But overall a nice QPR on this one. Would buy again to complement midweek bbq.
