Good, but not … noticeably great

Dark lush fruit, but lacking any sort of structure or energy, felt quite flat and boring.

By the glass. Made almost exclusively with Cabernet Sauvignon and a small percentage of petite sirah. Nice complexity on the nose with aromas of black currants, violets, pencil shaving, red plums with a note of green pepper. Deep, dark, reddish-purple garnet in color; almost opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & cassis with overtones of floral & earthy/dusty notes, spices, minerals, some cocoa, herbal notes & vanilla/oak notes in the background. This ‘21 ‘Circle Hill Vineyards’ from Pine Ridge Vineyards was almost like a homecoming for me at our Weekly Wednesday night dinners. It wasn’t showing like it was at the winery and this bottle had about 4 hours of ox in a decanter prior to serving. Delicious and bold

This ‘21 ‘Circle Hill’ from PRV is AGAIN the best wine this winery puts out. Happy to see the ‘21 live up to the ‘19 as this is seriously impressive. On the nose, blue fruit, blackberry, sweet tobacco. On the palate, graphite, blueberry, cedar, sweet leather. An incredibly complex wine that is layered beautifully from front to back. Josh and team continue to perfect this one. I scored this wine 95 points.
