Qupe Syrah Sam's Selection 50% Alisos, 50% Purisima Mountain

Sweet with lots of dark cherry, a little spice. Medium bodied, a bit of a short finish. Better day 2 than day 1.

Perhaps i got caught up in the magic at the winery but this let me down. It was very ackward with lots of vanilla bean, pepper and smoked meats but the oak was just too dominant here. Sweet concentration with vanilla and red cherries. Simple, with pure acid med alc and a new world presentation but lacking the oomph. stylistically this is stuck in a weird place between cali and europe. This really bores me. 86pts
