Tasmania wine tour day three (Tasmania) : Lemon, slight mandarin, orange zest, floral top notes but with slight oxidised bruised apple, herbaceous underpin. In the mouth the acid is just high enough to stop this being cloying, orange and mandarin squeezed over mostly green and a smidge of red apple. Sweet. On the cusp of pleasantness.

23rd Canberra International Riesling Challenge (Albert Hall, Canberra) : medium minus intensity aromas of orange, a little lemon. Off dry, citrus, mandarin and a tiny grapefruit note joins the orange and lemon, very clean and pure. Long. Good

NobleRottersSydney - Andrew's Hidden Label Night (Glass Brasserie, Sydney) : {375ml, screwcap, 7%} [Andrew] Well, blind, I thought this was some kind of Moscato, with the medium-sweet tropical fruit (although lime-tinged, in retrospect) and the frizzante character. Light bodied, low in acid and fairly short-finishing. Nice enough, but needs dessert to balance it out a bit.

Deep lemon in the glass. Explosive aromas of peach, tangerine, citrus peel of all sorts. Light-bodied with a zippy, straight-as-an-arrow acidity. There’s an appealing taste of orange candy which makes the smashability factor even higher.
