Starlight Cabernet Sauvignon

This was ready to go after an hour decant. Nose: blueberries, blackberries, oak spices, peppercorns, pepper, charred oak. Palate: fruit forward with a nice savory backbone. Blueberries, blackberries, a touch of tartness and spice, tobacco leaf, damp soil, smoked meat, long smooth finish. Full body, exquisite.

Fading a bit. Time to drink up.

Same as last bottle. Still in a great spot after 20-30 min of air.

Similar to past bottles, still drinking really well. Opens up nicely after 20-30 min. No need to wait.

PNP. Opens nicely after 30 min. In a great window. Saved some for night two, and it fell apart quickly. I don't think this would benefit from decanting upon open. This is not built for the long haul.

A savory and interesting Cabernet that is drinking well right now; it's a bit rustic and straightforward, but it is well-made and has more class than a lot of Santa Barbara Bordeaux blends. Dark cherry in color, medium in body, nose of tobacco, bay leaf, and eucalyptus. Tastes of boysenberry, mint, and cedar, with a chalky and somewhat dry finish.
