Domaine Lalande Pinot Noir Vin de Pays d'Oc

Wanted to give this second bottle a minimum of six months, and it ended up being seven. I'm inclined to say it did improve, but not by much. Still very thin and rough around the edges. Some decent cherry fruit. More in line with a cheap Beaujolais than a Pinot Noir. However, it's one of those wines that I accept for being what it is: simple, rustic, and a fine enough partner with food.

Thin. Hi-C like, but Hi-C would be better.

Very light-bodied. Took a while to wake up, but when it did it was crisp and fruity, with food-friendly acidity. A slight bitter cranberry or cherry pit component, and some iron-like minerality as well. On the second night it turned weird and disjointed, with the bitterness welling up even more on the finish. Seems like there was only a brief window of enjoyment for this wine, but when it was in the zone it was good.
