I was given this bottle a few years ago and have had it tucked away in the cellar since then. What a lovely wine with a few years of age on it - great fruit, depth and balance with lots going on. Well worth the wait and wish I had some more of this vintage. If you have any then there is no hurry to drink but tasting pretty fine right now so not need to wait either...

Central Otago mini-expo 2017 (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street) : Cherry and woody/oaky notes, cream, spice and stalks. It proves more sour than I would have expected on the palate with grippy tannins.

The Dirty Dozen Tasting 2013 (Il Botaccio, London) : Cherry with some creamy, vanilla oak on the nose. The palate is attractively savoury but then just a little drying on the finish; feels a little too 'worked'. 16/20.

Drank in Hong Kong - China Club I was surprised to learn that one of our group was the owner of the vineyard. Very nice new world pinot with a lot of Burgundy feel to it. Nose of cherries, raspberries vanilla and spice. Nice mouth and length. Still very young.

Medium intensity ruby color. Medium/lighter nose intensity showing a floral bouquet with cherry, raspberry and cabbage. Medium body with medium acidity and low tannins and cherry and flowers on the palate. Medium finish.

Central Otago Pinot Noir Expo (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street) : One of the stand out wines of the afternoon, the funky and rich nose has barnyard, dried herbs and spices. The palette is a luscious blend of cherry and chocolate with perfectly integrated oak and rich silky tannins. The acid backbone provides a great mouthfeel and the lingering finish is memorable.

Fruit seems well harnessed and a touch murky on the nose, although a dark cheery component is attractive. Bitter and a touch sour early to taste; this is clearly young and as a consequence shy. Oak is layered a touch heavy over the fruit. Time will tell.
