Incredible nose on this wine. You can sniff it all day long and still want to sniff it more. The body is medium+ to full body. Fantastic fruits with savory herbal notes framed by a fine and balanced structure supported by enough acidity and offers up freshness in this beautiful eleven year old BC wine. I think this wine is still good for another few years. This is my second last one. In retrospect, this is a great QPR for …

Clear Out The Cellar Charity Wine Tasting (Canoehead Central) : Finished in Top 10 and was neck and neck with the 2016 version of Signature. Truly a remarkable late bloomer. A mix of old world and new world. Well integrated fruit and savoury flavours. Medium-plus body and finish. This was the last bottle from the cellar.

Old World vs New World: Merlot & Cab Sauv on Blueback Drive (Vancouver Island) : Part of a Merlot-dominant blends blind tasting of old world vs new world. Watery rim, muted nose with moss and earth notes cloaking any fruit aromatics. Difficult palate to like for most tasters with harsh bitterness bitter, high acid, diluted fruit, sour finish. Didn't appear to be any present faults. In the end, two tasters preferred this as their favourite of the four Merlots referencing …

Waiting may test one’s patience but this was worth the wait. This has actually improved a year later. A bit of elegant evolution in the nose and the fruit is front and centre on a lush bed of fine tannins and subtle acidity. The finish is long and savoury. One more bottle. Probably pair with rustic roast chicken and veggies. Leave a glass for a cheese course. Follow up note from next day: one glass left over and the wine …

Awesome. Beautiful classic Bordeaux nose of cassis and forest floor. Blackberry blueberry fruit with soft tannins and muted acidity all perfectly balanced with a lengthy finish. Superb!!

Not the richest expression of the Similkameen this year possibly due to the lengthy wildfire season - but a solid effort, nonetheless. Aromas of campfire, ash & wood smoke – this wine tastes rougher & hotter than declared. I am going to see how the rest age.

Medium ruby with some garnet sneaking in. Low to medium intensity aniseed and blueberry aromas which are reflected on the palate along with some leather. Dry, high acidity, medium tannin, full body leading to a medium finish.

This is in it’s prime drinking window now. Beautifully balanced. The tannins have rounded out. I agree with Vino Loco TN but give this an extra point. It’s a delight to consume at this time. Only complaint is a tad thin fruit wise on the finish. But wonderful with grilled striploin.

Uncorked early in the day but not decanted before dinner. Expected to love it based on reports from others but I just didn't. It's a baby and very black and blue fruit-forward in a new world kind of way. Lacked resonance and a POV.

Delicious and getting better each year. Mid colour, soft oak on the nose. Incredibly well balanced. Nice fruit without being overly extracted. A little tart/sour, but overall pretty solid BC Bordeaux blend. Would be fun to put this up against Nota Bene, Red Icon, Portfolio etc in a tasting to see how it stacks up.

Deep garnet shade. Initial impression of chocolate and vanilla. Ripe, spicy, dark cherries and as it opened up, plenty of length, soft tannins. Years to go. Should continue to develop complexity, but very good now.

This wine is a red blend equal parts Cab Sav and Merlot with some petit Verdot, cab franc and Malbec. The wine was medium purple and had slight sediment, High viscosity and was opaque. On the nose I smelled almond, cherry and plum. The intensity is medium. On the palate I tasted earth, spice a touch of black fruit. The wine is dry and has a bitter aftertaste indicating high tannins. The acid and alcohol was medium. The finish was …

I can't really add much to KFrench150's detailed review below (with which I agree). It's truly a great wine that pairs well with many different dishes. In fact, at a BC Wine Institute VQA tasting a couple of years back, deKerf and I determined that this wine was the clear winner among at least 80 other wineries at the event. It wasn't even 'Clos' - groan 😉 . A bit of trivia: Dr. Bonnie Henry, BC's Provincial Health Officer, is …

Tannins well integrated. Inky dark red. Bordeaux blend style with blueberry, Cherry to start but after time open the secondary notes of spice and soft plum. Very good wine.

Drinking well now. Terrible cold makes any tasting notes suspect but i very much like this. Hope it doesn't only taste good when I have a cold.

Equal parts Cab Sauv and Merlot with Petite Verdot in a supporting role (at least on the label) and a touch of Cab Franc and Malbec for seasoning. Nice packaging with a broad shouldered Bordeaux bottle in heavy glass with a deep punt. Sealed under high quality natural cork. Initially very new world nose and flavour profile that belies its Bordeaux blend roots. Definite Petite Verdot dominance on the nose and palate (ala Michael David's Petite Petit) overlaid on top …

Still too early to open. Acid, tannin and alcohol all fighting for dominance. Subdued the fruit a bit. Absolutely spot on with prime rib. Lots of potential if patience bears out.

Like sipping wine while sitting in a plum tree! Also some cassis on the nose, and some earthiness. Full mouth feel, well balanced, long and pleasant finish. Still some tannins but they are quite mature and it's drinking well now. I would have guessed this to be an old-world wine, not from this tiny and almost unknown Canadian wine region. It went wonderfully with grilled steak and "all the fixin's".

Dark plum purple color with cassis, blackberry and vegetal notes on the nose. Rich blackberry and cassis fruit burst forth with dusty bell pepper in the background on the palate. it evolves nicely in the glass and finishes with moderate length

Very tasty. Didn't take notes and can't remember if it has the stuffing to improve with age. Another bottle definitely required.
