Last tasted four years ago. Still a dark ruby color. Blackberries and black currants in the nose with licorice, dark chocolate and notes of tobacco. Similar flavor with blackberries, black cherries, plums and blueberries along with chocolate and licorice. A rich, complex wine, full bodied, nice structure, well balanced, complex, nice acidity, and a long smooth finish.

Opened this bottle with trepidation...There was a strong chance that it would have been ruined by my poor storage technique over the last 15 years. I actually opened a 2021 Pride Mountain Cabernet as a backup for Thanksgiving, just in case. This bottle has spent 2 years in my brother's basement after my divorce, then 3 years in a hall closet, and then the rest of it's days in my EuroCave. Despite the less-than-ideal storage situation, the wine turned out …

Enjoyed it. I was pleasantly surprised. Three hours, double decanted. about the end of its peak but still holding on. Nose got leather, black cassis, and tobacco. Taste was black fruit, mocha, and cigar box finish. I would drink it now.

Decanted an hour. Dark, dark purple. Moderate legs. Nose of black plum, tobacco, and chocolate. Dark fruit, dark berry, resolving tannins still present with persistent grip. Very, very nice. Years left.

* Opened and decanted 1-hour before serving. With an extremely dark core and inky purple rim, Ramey's '03 Jericho Canyon Cabernet was showing vibrance and youth from the get-go, suggesting this cuvee has many years ahead of it. On the nose, lovely notes of cigar, leather, herbs, creme de cassis, strawberry and even molasses. Very inviting and complex. In the mouth, great structure, firm yet integrated tannins, loads of rich dark fruit (no jaminess), strawberry, pepper and traces of vanilla. …

Never fully developed in the glass. Closed and seems to be past peak. There was some seepage and cork was moist under the cap, so likely specific to this bottle.

Just a bit too late on this one. I think it would have been 93-94 a couple years ago. Still an excellent wine, but past it's peak. If you have it, drink it.

Opened for A’s 18th birthday! C disagrees with me a little on this one but I think it’s confirming my fear that most Napa cabs of this era don’t age that well. Nose is great, lots of fruit, starting to develop some leather and spice. But to me, after that, it comes in waves… here’s the fruit, here’s the oak, here’s the alcohol. C thinks it’s just a big wine and tastes fine. I feel like it probably doesn’t ever …

Deep violet. Nose of black cherry and dark stone fruit with tobacco, pencil lead, and a hint of sage. Black cherry and black raspberry with grip yet essentially resolved tannins. Still primary with a few years to go, i think, but probably unlikely to change.

Lots of deep black and blue fruits in the nose and flavor. Blackberries, currants and blueberries along with chocolate, licorice, and hints of coffee. A rich and complex wine, it is full bodied, well balanced, with nice complexity, and a long silky smooth finish.

Basicly consistent notes since 2019. Decanted an hour. Deep purple. Nose of cassis, a bit of vanilla, and dark fruits. Rich blueberry, blackberry, and a hint black currant. Tannins dusty but not intrusive. Remains quite primary. Stored perfectly and still room to change in a good way, i think, but i won't wait too long.

Cant go wrong with this Napa Cab. Worth the money and after a 2hour decant, over a well marinated Bisteca, very nice combination. Medium to full body with soft rounded notes of berries. NO mineral tones at all.

Had to open a 2003 in honor of my daughter’s departure for college. Darker and bigger than I expected. Amazing notes of ripe fruit, red and black. Not as intense on the palate but still drinking very well. Acid was there in spades and tannins present, structure starting to overpower the fruit but I still really enjoyed it. Probably not for everyone.

Beautifully aged Napa Cab. I don't see it improving—the balance of fruit and tannins is optimum—but neither do I see it falling off any time soon. Not the most exciting iteration of the grape, but a lovely glass of wine.

on open, seemed quite tired... after about an hour, it woke up a bit and tannins came forward and gave it some balance. Kept half a bottle over night and next day it was over tired again.. Still enjoyable but drink up.

Looked up the word "elegant" in the dictionary and saw a glass of Ramey 2005 Jerrico Canyon. No way is this over the peak Dark cherries with a minor in blackberry. Enormous nose. Well integrated tannins. Reminds me of 2002 Montelena.

Still has the fruit but much subdued, tannins are all resolved, drink them if you got them, this will not be lasting much longer. I liked it but wish I would have pulled from the cellar a year ago, we still enjoyed it however. It would have been a 93 a couple of years ago.

Still young. Dark red. Blackberries, dark red fruits. Earthy flavors definitely show the vineyard soil. Dusty tannins in the finish.

Decantered over two hours. Soft, long finish with minimal tannins. Consumed with Peking duck and worked very well. Not as bold as one might think, age kept it balanced and worth finding more of these.

The color was ruby red, and dark. The aroma was warm and glowing, it reminded me of tasting great wine from the barrel. The oak and wine were in perfect harmony with chocolate, a bit of mineral, some perfectly toasted marshmallow, and a bit of raspberry reduction. In the mouth, it's straight up solid. It would cut through and pair well with any fatty meat or buttered dish everyday. The finish tightens up and the tannins clamp down on the …

What a terrific wine! Charcoal, cocoa, earth, black fruit and black currant syrup burst out onto the palate. The structure is brilliant, with an almost viscous mouth-feel balanced in every way, with fruit, acid and tannin all in harmony. Wish I had more, and sad that this is the last vintage for Ramey.

Pnp, drank over 1 hour. Earth, charcoal, dark fruit, a bit tight. I'm leaning towards this needing a few more years to open up more vs. some reviewers thinking its past its prime. Will hold off for 2 years.

More fruit on the nose than I would expect from a 2005, very beautiful. On the palate, our only complaint was that it was a bit thin, it lacked some complexity and vibrancy. May be past it's prime. That said, for the $80 I paid for it, it was a very enjoyable wine, would buy again at that price point.
