Well it had not improved since last time still reductive/bretty nose but also peach. Similar taste as last time. We will see what happens when we leave it opened for some time.

Initial reductive tones and Brett and in the nose. Improved to be more of red apples, lemon and nuttiness and a touch of toffee in the finish Typical taste with nuttiness, red apples, lemon, but reductive/brett notes lowers the note on this one.

21 months after the prior: Pleasant enough — but considerably more oxidative, and showing less brightness and savory freshness. Consistent results over three nights, gassed in between.

Two months after the prior: Again this is such a distinctive creature. Encore savory marzipan, simultaneously creamy and with good acidity. We agree it’s lovely upon opening, but also found the evolution interesting and enjoyable on the second and third nights. We also agree the wax is brittle and poorly applied. Pale golden. Earthy, and perhaps a bit oily, with suggestions of stone fruit pit. Savory yellow fruit. This “Melon a Queue Rouge” is made in a fresh/topped up style, and has lovely mineral / “something else going on” Jura character. Very enjoyable over three nights.

Annoying, poorly applied plasticky wax capsule. Very difficult to remove so I pulled the cork through it. Difficult to keep tiny fragments of the capsule out of the glass. Not a great cork - dark, porous. Poured a rich gold with a slight green tint. Presented a moderate aroma of pear and peach, with base notes of butterscotch and petrol. PnP and enjoyed over a course of 5 hours. Starts as described on the producer website with grapefruit, a hint of tropical fruit and very fresh, with air the grapefruit disappears, while the flavours turn towards marzipan and hazelnut, the tropical fruit stays in the background, on the palate there comes a creaminess that gets complemented by a pronounced crisp acidity, ends dry, dense and long, 91-92 points.
