At 18yrs this. bottle even than the 16yr old last time! PNP at 50oF. Subtle complexity of fruit (apple and apricot), mineral (iodine), secondaries of cream and light vanilla, tertiaries of roasted cashews and caramel. Refreshing acid attack forllow by smooth mouth feel and flavor intensity building on aromas and finishing on satisfying length. Incredible that a 2003 hot year can preserve acidity with cool aspect. Les Lyd in NE exposure. Take note with climate change.

The second bottle in just over six months that was oxidised. This is frustrating given how age worthy these wines are.

Medium gold with M+ intensity aromas of bruised apple, baking spices, and butter with high acid m+ citrus attack balanced by M flavors of apple, meyer lemon and custard, lively attack nicely balanced by smooth and broad mouth feel lingering finish. This premier cru Chablis has the amazing freshness of youth but subtle complexity and round mouthfeel of maturity. Had bottle two years ago that was oxidized (but not gone) but this one is amazing for a 16 year old …

Gorgeous Chablis, ripened yellow apples and peaches, some herbs and still going strong.

Gabe's. Bright yellow, salty, meyer lemon and nectarine fruit, almonds, raw mushroom. All that made it a bit new worldly, but it was nonetheless much admired, especially for the vintage.

Quite different to the Côte de Léchet from the same vintage I had twice this year, but nothing behind it. On the nose lemon, pineapple, white blossom with a hint of hazelnut and botrytis, on the palate medium (+) acidity, good grip, medium bodied and with a nice bitterness, medium to long finish. Even better on day two, more concentrated on the palate, very good. This wine demands for food. Perhaps not for everybody but for all that love unique, …

Wine Dojo - Week 10 - Because You're Worth It (Ken's Place) : Tasted Blind A: Medium gold N: Medium (+) intensity. Yellow apple, pear, lemon peel, a lot of wet stone or flint. Something i thought was wet wool but others course corrected me to CHEESE. The fruit is dried. This is fully developed. P: Aromas confirmed. Dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium to medium (+) body, medium intensity and medium (+) finish. Drink now (within 5 years) and …

Buttery, touch of botrytis, but still drinkable with just enough freshness. Don't hold any longer and eat with something heavier and simple.

From memory: This is golden and mature but not really complex; and it shows excellent freshness and minerality for a hot vintage.

Complex nose of well developed ripe apples with a touch of petroleum on the approach. Later more fresh fruit and delicacy. Lacking just a bit of concentration but makes up for it in forms of freshness. Citrus finish combined with bright fruit.

Grands Jours de Bourgogne 2014 Day 1: Chablis 3-17-13 : What is this strange 1er cru?! This is not bad, and surprises me vs 03 heat expectations! Nose has that crazy saline aroma I associate with sweaty woman's armpits, palate is saline and acid, this is not bad!
