Purple to red colour with an orange tint at the rim. Bright with a lot of weight. A heavy fruit nose, ripe forest fruits, blackberries and elderberries, plus a touch of woodiness. Dry mouthfeel. A strong tannin taste, the fruit flavours from the aroma come through, blackcurrants, blackberries and elderberries, with an underlying wood flavour. The finish is long.

Dark plum and herb crust nose. The palate provides dark damson fruits, dried herb edge, good length and intensity. Pleasantly surprised by how good this wine still is. A gift from a friend for my 50th.
