nice, rich round plum and black currant; notable very nice oak tones that outlast the fruit on the finish; decant for sediment

great nose of sweet earth and plum; big chocolate, sweet oak and still somewhat primary plum that seems to still need time. The oak is really great (and i am not an oak fan) but it is still not fully integrated, though there is enuf fruit that this can still improve.

this has filled out; nice fruit, now evolving a bit but still young. The oak is more integrated. Can drink or hold.

Still drinking extremely well. This is a full bodied example of St Emilio's, nice round fruit with a fantastic finish.

Had this off the list at another over-priced restaurant in Vail (although the price of the wine was very reasonable). Nose was a very interesting balance of leather and dark fruit with some nice woody cedar mixed in. I thought the wine itself lacked some body, but had nice balance. Tannans were well integrated. Dark fruit predominated. Good value considering the circumstances. A 5 N 8 B 8 T 15 F 3

A little thin, but starting to evolve. Good wine.

Served with Thanksgiving dinner. Also served Opus One. While it was not the equal of the Opus, it was a very nice counter balance. Delicious with both the main meal and the desserts. Glad I have another bottle.

Nose of red and dark fruit, graphite, and spice. Palate - nice texture. Rich red and blue fruits again, some leather, some cedar that is not completely integrated - oak flavors more prominent than I would like. Medium long finish. A nice wine, but did not wow me for this price point

Deep ruby color with orange rim. A lot of funk on the nose initially - barnyard, leather, wet earth; along with tobacco, plum, dark cherry & berry, graphite. On the palette, lots of minerality and metallic notes (with the barnyard, must be brett), along with cherry, plum, tobacco. The brett blows off after a while. Then some cedar and more fruit. Medium body, medium acidity, medium tannins, medium finish. Interesting, funky, nice complexity. Not much to the finish, though....Day 2 …

medium body albeit with good mid palate; red currant, pencil lead, spice, and not quite integrated cedar. Still a bit young and rustic; well balanced. Enjoyable, but there are so many other options at or below this price point

A hit. Why can't anyone else make Merlot like the Right Bank? Great earthy tannins let just enough posh blue fruit poke through. Would love to see if it puts on a bit more palette weight in a year or two. Try again in 2015.

Monopole Blind: Deep ruby red with dark core; very aromatic with cigar, lead pencil, stewed plum-cherry, slight saddle leather-funk (brett?) but sweet and pungent-like, compost; earth, clay minerals with good dose of baking spices. This is a fantastic value and mimmicks Troplong Mondot for this vintage at 1/2 the price. Not quite as elegant though. Really enjoyed this tonight. 92-93

Very aromatic, perfumy, with cigar tobacco, dry spices, pencil lead, cassis, and a touch of sous-bois; drinking well now, medium body, dry tannins, but a very nice Bordeaux for this vintage.

On the nose, ripe, sweet dark fruit, dark chocolate, baking spice, hint of meat. On the palate, medium plus length. Tannins firm but supple. 68% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. Quite high proportion of Cabernets among the Chateaux on the right bank that benefits from bottle ageing.
