Alex Foillard Beaujolais-Villages

Light cherry with some tartness. I don't drink a lot of beaujolais, but this was a bit too simple for me.

Summer Reds (67 Sourgough, Finchley) : Everything you would want from a young Beaujolais Villages. Tart, fresh, super fruity. Simple and unsophisticated and pretty perfect - really ticks the “with pizza” box for me, and that is not damning it with faint praise. This is what you expect when you pull the cork and this is what you get.

Summer reds @ 67 Sourdough (67 Sourdough, East Finchley) : Real Beaujolais character here - this really couldn't be anything else. Crunchy, fruity strawberry, cranberry and cherry on the nose, a touch of roast meat - this is so inviting. Lovely concentration on the palate - medium bodied with light tannins and juicy acidity. It's not the last word in stature or complexity but it's tasty and moreish

First Beaujloais in a long time, and this one was nice. Great nose, lot of freshness, light cherry flavor on the palate. Short finish

Darker fruited and more serious than I was expecting. At first quite stern but blossomed with air, with more red fruits and high tone acidity coming through.
