Pale; intially specious/minty; then stewed plums, ÔhotÕ; starts soft, mulled fruit, lacks freshness, attenuated; clumsy, lacks class. 12 Garnet, dull; meaty, plummy, still a minty note, has substance; soft, good fruit though a bit overripe, thick; better than previous bottle but to drink young. Lacks real depth or length. Score 13 This is much better. Fully mature.

Predominantly tasted of sour cherries. Past its best.

Good colour. Quite full and rich. Slightly jammy with a lip coating sweetness initially. Again, not as hot as the 15%abv might suggest. Softened and mellowed a little with air, though no obvious reductive aromas upon unscrewing. Good food / bbq wine with some complexity. Half decanted to half bottle in fridge to try in a day or two.

Dark red. Earthy, savoury, bramble nose. Savoury blackberry/plum fruit. Slightly tannic, though not hard finish. Smoky and quite long.

Good colour. Nice nose. Spicy palate. Good glycerin and alcohol. Grenache? Mouvedre? Possibly an old world Syrah? When revealed this was an eye opener - previous bottle was far too hot and agressvely alcoholic but sems nicely balanced now. Good. Single Varietals Offline, RJs London

Good colour, lush nose. Reasonable fruit with massive alcohol. Ok but a bit hot and unbalanced on the finish.

On the first day, there was a slight off-putting note to this one - just a sharp aftertaste that wasn't pleasant. I didn't finish my glass. By the second day, the sharpness had mellowed, leaving a good, solid, fruity grenache. I'm disappointed to say that there wasn't much more. I much prefer the Kaesler old vine Grenache to this - it seemed to lack the sweetness that I hoped for in the wine. Cherry, floral notes evident in the nose.
