This certainly has a beeswax note to the aroma along with grey slate and baked apples. It has decent richness in the mouth but has a weightless quality and it is very dry and thirst quenching. Sealed under screwcap it has just enough truffle and toast development but remains very fresh and lively.

We agree with Janis Robinson that this is really strange ... but interesting! Not really comparable to a white rhone despite the Grenache Blanc and Roussanne, indeed a creature of its own.

Light lemon-green, fast-moving legs @12.5% abv. Medium aromas of lemon, green apple against a floral background. Dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body. Linear flavor profile of lemon, quince, and mineral notes. Buttery texture (lees effect?). Good length with racy ultradry finish. Enjoyed with oysters at Hog's Island Oyster Farm at Marshall.

Light gold. Nose of stuck match intially despite having been decanted before serving but passed quite quickly in the glass to leave hay, tobacco and white stone fruit. So the nose was intriguing and exciting but the palate didn't live up to the aromas, tasting of unripe pear, some tannins which weren't integrated and a tart finish. This was tasted blind but I have to say I didn't like, it really isn't my style.

Randall Grahm Tasting at State Line (State Line Liquors, Elkton MD) : Straw colored. Deep nose with white peach notes. Rich and flavorful with a long, long finish. The acid hides in the corners of your mouth and keeps leaping out when you think the effect is over. Flavor profile of stone fuits, peaches, apricots. Great balance and a lively interplay between the fruit and the acid. This one will make old bones.

This might be my favorite Randall graham Wine to date. 62% grenache blanc and 38% rousanne. Not a traditional rhone white but neither is the nice low 12.5%alc and the high acidity (although I think some is added). Pears Quince melon flowers. Low to medium body. This is really a worthwhile wine. I wish more CA winemakers tried their hand at some5hing different like this.

Lemon, green fruit, peach, nutty, oily/waxy, some floral. Full body, medium acidity and alcohol. Longish finish. Nice complexity, texture, balance. A subtle, but very pleasant drink. Better on day 2 and 3 - rounder, smoother.

Saturday Summer Wines (Washington, DC) : Nose of cheese rind, salted lime, yellow apple, chalk, limestone and white tea. Creamy on the palate, with notes of chalk, white flowers and wax. Yellow plum and apricot jam mixes with notes of dried honey, cheese rind, green olive and tree sap. Gets funkier and crazier with air. Loving the medium body and the 12.5% alcohol. 62% Grenache Blanc and 38% Roussanne.

Green apple and pinapple. Hint of quince. Steely pure mineral counterbalances its lightly honeyed weight. What makes this standout is its texture like super-ripe peach: waxy, soft and thick, ridiculously juicy and persistent in mouth. Long saline finish.

All about peach/apricot, wet stones, and then apples, though I see what Zweder means by buttermilk, too. It's also quite dry and earthy, with a snappy, lemon-pith quality on the palate, and great texture.
