1985 vintage

I've had this bottle a while. Just starting to sample my 2012 and 2013 Napa wines. Not fully mature but quite drinkable after letting it breathe an hour. No hurry to drink this up but it's a good choice with an hour decant. Still has some grippy tannins, nose is subdued at first but develops with Air Time. A nice bottle worthy of taking up some cellar space for the next few years. I'll try it again in 2024. Salut!!

Super surprised in good way by this. Became more balanced after 1-2 of being open. Generous fruit and very nice eucalyptus counter balance note. Decent acidity. Can’t imagine it developing more positively but should be fine for 3-5 more years, Od think.

Nose of graphite, cedar and dark plum. Long legs on the glass. Dry and slightly tannic with cherry and dark plum note. Slightly acidic with a medium length finish.

Excellent balance with bordeaux blend tastes of earth, tobacco and currants with a nice finish

This bottle was pretty tired unfortunately....Showing signs of madeira, xerez and port. Not oxidized just yet but definitely moving there(( Would not buy again

some weird darkness I can't describe, but not great. Nicole says roasted mushrooms, but not like you'd want to drink. Falling apart, definitely too old, and possibly corked.

Dark ruby red. Rich and rounded nose with cinnamon, spices, blackberries, nutmeg and coconut. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium plus body. Lovely palate with layers of vanilla, blackberries, cassis, coconut, cinnamon, spices and cocoa. Medium plus to long finish. Smoother and more approachable on day two. Drink till 2024.

Deep ruby red, nice and young. Rounded nose dark spices, dark berries, cocoa and a touch of anise. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium plus bodied. Layers of sweet spices, crushed gravel, dark bitter cocoa, plums and dark raspberries. Dry and long finish. Drink till 2024.

Deep ruby red and garnet edges. Layered nose with cinnamon, dark berries, spices, dark plums and a touch herbal. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) with a medium plus body. Palate is extracted with dark cocoa and dark red berries. A touch stoney in long finish. Drink till 2024.

Dark room, but looks only dark purple. Pure rich blackberries with a bit of bramble on the nose. Similar tasting notes; blackberry, firm but perfectly integrated wood, blueberry juice, and a bit of spicy red fruit around the edges. Some milk chocolate as well. Absolutely silken texture and a bramble and black fruit finish that goes on forever.

Wow very pleasantly surprised. Have not drank a Flora Springs cab in a while. This was a very good bold wine. Decanted for 2 hours and probably could have used another hour. This will only get better with time. Actually liked this better than the Trilogy which is their top wine. Going to go buy more.

Every time this is just an exceptional value for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark ruby red. Nose is coated in baking spices, dark cocoa and black fruits. Moderate tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Layered palate with cloves and dried blackberries. A little alcohol in the long finish. Needed some more decant time. Excellent QPR. Drink till 2024.

Insanely consistent bottling. Medium to deep ruby red with a purplish hue. Layered nose with nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and dark cherries. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) with a medium plus to full body. Complex and balanced with silky notes of cinnamon, vanilla, red cherries and a little black berries. Long and lingering finish. Very well put together and excellent QPR. Drink till 2024.

Strong tannins at 7/10. Fruity red fruits in the nose and in the initial attack. Strong middle and backbone finish with a moderate lasting finish. THe finish becomes a little lighter than ideal. This was a pop and pour and when unveiled this has a great price point at under $40.

First time trying the 2013 Flora Spring Cabernet Sauvignon and we were thoroughly surprised. Super dark and intense ruby red. Classic Napa and oaky nose with notes of baking spices like nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla as well as some blackberries and dark cherries. Moderate tannins (7/10) with a moderate plus body. If you like vanilla and oak spice, this is your wine to drink. There's some dark fruit and plum underneath, but it takes a lot to get past the wood right now. I'd leave this in the cellar for a few years and hope that the fruit is still around when the oak is tamed.

This was a tough one to review for me. I saw a 2003 at this liquor store and read reviews and thought "what the heck, I'll give it a shot." Balsamic notes and aromas of old polished wood lead to a juicy palate of blackcurrant with floral overtones and some decent grip.

Very flavorful and approachable with sandalwood and dark, ripe plum notes. Lovely application of oak to balance the melange of dark fruits. I don't drink a lot of cabs and know this is fairly pedestrian and entry level, but a very enjoyable and lovely bottle to drink on a Sunday afternoon in front of a nice fire.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are fast. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like plum, cherry, cranberry, blackberry and walnut. It tastes like mushroom and flint i do agree with others it is past it prime. The body is medium. The wine has narrow texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has low acidity.

Thought this was drinking pretty well for a 13 year old wine. Still good color and fruit with a soft and balanced finish. Probably needs to be drunk up in next year or two.

Full black cherry with cassis and cocoa. Smooth lingering finish. Balanced. Oak undertones. Paired with prime steak.

Unfortunately - this bottle is past its prime and declining quickly. Most - if not all - of the fruit is gone and what is left is a nose dominated by aromas of prune followed by a thin and bitter taste on the palate. I should have heeded my own advice from 2012 and drunk my last two bottles then.

one more bottle left after this one and it was a really good Cab. Flavors seem to have integrated better and there was ripe fruit with nice earthy/tobacco/dusty notes. Finish was balanced and had a balanced amount of tannins to leave the taste for 20+ seconds and wanted the next sip.

fine, well integrated tannins on the palate with earthy cherry and tea. A little thin on the first day and seemed to improve with some air, but overall, it is in a lean stage. I was hoping for a little more rounded fruit on the palate so I think this is prime to drink right now and could be on its way winding down.

a nice drinking Cab. Good nose, color with some good complexity and soft tannins. Feels nice on the palet and brings a good finish. This one is not off the chart but very enjoyable

Smooth with a nicely balanced dark fruit bouquet on the palate. Some earthiness, blood orange, dark cherry. Tannins are very nicely integrated but I think this has the structure to go another couple of years.

In the glass the color was a beautiful garnet. Cherry/blackberry aromas dominated the nose. On the palate the tannins were barely noticeable - and the finish was very smooth - albeit a bit abbreviated. Paired wonderfully with braised short ribs. In my opinion this wine is drinking at its peak right now - and probably won't hold much beyond another year before it begins to perceptively fade. Drink 'em if you got 'em!

Started tight, young and tannic but opened up by day 2 to resemble the more recent vintages. Could age in the bottle for a few more years.

Very dark and showing a little bricking. Nose dominated by graphite, but followed by some bell pepper, plum, and even a touch of cherry. Palate follows the nose pretty closely. Very well balanced, if a touch on the juicy side. Not getting the oak and vanilla from earlier notes. Hard to believe this is an 11 year-old entry level wine. All that is good about Napa cab IMO.

More of a lighter and smooth Cali cab without overly pronounced fruit. Not overly complex. Mild finish

Blood red. Dry. Very tight. Almost seemed watered down if you like a big bold cab Lots of acid but tannins have been tamed. I let it breathe for awhile but I think a decant might have helped. Overall seemed light, dry, clean/astringent and somewhat unexciting. Drank on a friday night during lent but think it may have paired much better with a nice filet mignon.

I opened this up a couple hours before dinner. On opening, it was pretty closed down. But after 2 hours in the decanter this was surprisingly fresh, smooth, medium-bodied, and enjoyed by all.
