Very nice entry level Champagne. Disgorged 13 July 2022. Medium gold color, excellent effervescence. Great autolytic character. Rich and fruity: ripe apple, juicy peach, poached pear, tangerine peel, toasted hazelnut, yeasty brioche, chalky mineral and a persistent streak of acidity throughout. Acidity balances all the fruits. Medium finish. Great QPR. Drink now.

2024 disgorgement. Pale gold, fine bubbles. Green apple, fritter, hawaiian roll, maraschino cherry. Zippy with teeth coating acidity. More green apple, candied lemon. Finish med. apple and citrus. Not overly complex but pleasant enough.

Golden apple and minerality, stone fruit, and brioche richness to it. Racy on the palate entry, taught and refreshing, and then a long pastry / hazelnut finish.

Still drinking very well indeed. Pale straw colors, yeasty nose, fine bead, a bright attack, and a nice round finish. Delicious now, despite the CT drinking range ending in 2023. Note to cellar tracker: There should be a way to distinguish release dates of NV wines. This particular wine shows drinking dates of 2018-2023, whereas the disgorgement was not until 2022. I see the same issue with many other NV wines.

This was nice. More interesting this bottle than my prior note indicated.

Nose is really nice, although a little light on the more rich and toasty notes of really excellent champagne. Intense minerality and citrus on the nose primarily: limestone, lemon peel, a small bit of breadiness but more like flour, white flowers. Lab The palate is lean, again pretty heavily leaning on some minerality and citrus, but without the power behind better champagne. Decent acidity, very pleasant bubbles. More of the same notes on the palate, but with the addition of …

Deep lemon with a copper tinge. Med(+) aromas of bruised apple, red plum, pear, lemon, butter cookie, brioche, a bit of honey, caramel and brown sugar. Aggressive bubble, dry, med alcohol, med(+) acidity, med plus finish. A bit oxidative in nature and I’m unsure if it’s due to reserve wine or its age. Color indicates this is black grape based blend. The fruits are ripe and wine feel a little flat while being relatively complex. Bubble is a little agressive …

Christmas Eve dinner at Wimborne. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow lemon colour. Fine persistent bubbles. Thin legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of brioche, biscuit, citrus lemon with touches of honey, clean steel. Youthful. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of mineral chalk and stone, citrus lemon, pure white peaches, touches of honey, brioche, some steeliness. Clean medium+ finish with steeliness. Very good …

(Mich&Bo) wow, complex nose, fine head. Mushrooms and citrus, tight minerality, fresh baked croissant, with sweet red apples, sweet mandarins and long finish. Great development, drinking in a great place now.

Not bad. Not great either but decent cheaper champagne. Lots of lemon with a bit of cream and some minerality. Not a lot of bubbles on this one. Would buy again if on discount but not running back for more

Lovely minimality with citrus and a touch of brioche. All the correct champagne flavors are there. Strong mousse. Great QPR for an everyday champagne. Had with oysters and it was a great match.
Taster #6171 · Oct 24, 2023
Crispy and toasty on the nose. Strict on the palate and direct, but in the best possible way, I think my palate just finally got back in action.
Taster #3806 · Oct 16, 2023
No detailed notes, had out of a Mondavi Chardonnay glass over two days. Nice, mid tier, champagne, overdelivering all the usual suspects, good fruit, chalk, yeasty notes, persistent bubbles.

Quick note: Very nice ... yeasty, toasty, yummy.

Complex nose of brioche, toast, fermented cheese. Wish it followed through more on palate but at this price, its cool babe
Taster #8025 · Aug 11, 2023
Medium gold. Lemon, lime, orange, mixed berry, as it warms up: pear, apple, and grape, honeysuckle, toast, biscuit, vanilla, almond, cream, hint of chalk. Extra brut, high acidity, medium minus body and alcohol, agressive mousse.
Taster #1640 · Jun 28, 2023
Love this as a simple and tasty bubbly that over delivers for the money. Perfect presentation of co!or and fizz, Ample aromas of dough and warm apple pie. It has nice flavors of apple, peach, brioche and a good texture with only 3g/l dosage. Not particularly high on acidity so I believe its time window is now through 2027 or so, and it might actually have better things to say in another year. It was only disgorged last July.

I’ve now had a number of generic premier cru NV champagnes and they all seem to have the same qualities. Chalk. White fruit. Nice body in the middle. Not a complaint because they’re all quite nice— especially if you like chalk. This falls in the same camp. But from I’ve seen, don’t expect them to age— that’s what grand cru vintage champagnes are for.

July 2022 disg't. Popped this open and the kitchen was immediately perfumed with baked biscuits, key lime, and hazelnut. Prodigious mousse with a fast, steady bead. Good concentration of fruit and a beautiful treatment in the barrel lend stamina and breadth to the palate. Not very complex but simply delicious. This could surely age somewhat, but there's no way I'm keeping my hands off my only other bottle to find out. 5+13+17+8= 93

Thought this was quite good, and a great value. Nice citrus notes, yeasty, a little nutty, with a nice finish. C thought a touch pithy but I wasn’t picking that up last night. Definitely would buy again.

Had 5 different bottles with different rating. Felt that the variation is rather wide or it could be due to my taste bud? The nose have cooked red apples, bread, toast, yeasty and mineral.

Golden in color with brass hues. Very expressive on nose that is loaded with toasted almond, breadbasket, biscuit and beeswax alongside notes of baked apple, dried pear chips, quince paste and hints of dried flowers, chalk and minerals. The palate shows richness and balance. The mousse is ultra-fine and dissipates rather quickly, but no less than expected for a wine of this age. The acidity and phenolics are both above moderate and add to the length of the wine. Flavors …

Though its vintage is 2002, the nose have cooked red apples, bread, toast, yeasty and mineral. Acidity is not high, probably medium+ to medium. effervescence is medium. Tasted like an aged white burgundy with slight bubbles.

Deep gold color with tiny, subdued beads. Bubbles are gone 15 min after pouring. Medium intense nose of butterscotch, cream, loaf bread, cooked red apples, and a little golden raisin. On the palate sour green apple, salinity, red apple. Medium alcohol, medium body, medium acidity. Finish is on the shorter side. It’s lacking the bright acidity expected for Champagne, but it still drinks well, more like an aged Chardonnay. I really like the saline, mineral driven finish.
