Really stunning bottle! Slow oxed with the cork for 2 hours and served in grassl mineralite, which concentrated the aromas well. Dynamic nose that started out with rich tilled soil, sagebrush, and tomato leaf and eventually developed violet notes. Medium plus body with a palate similar to the nose, with boysenberry, earth, sage. Seems to be in a great place at the moment. Talcum grained refined tannins and just enough acidity. Paired excellently with a tomato, basil, and mozzarella salad, …

Beautiful yellow red clear colour. Lovely intense perfume of violets, hyacints and a hint of liqourice. Mature balanced dry taste with a firm tannin backbone. Long finish. Fantastic wine with reindeer filets and mushroom risotto.

Drinking very well right now and should continue for another 4-5 years if well kept. Excellent typicity for Taurasi without going too far in direction of high alcohol and excessive extraction. The volcanic character, resulting in a lighter wine with good balance, still comes through. Hue appropriate for its age.Good acidity. Very good complexity and length.

Final of 3 bottles. Not sure if it was bottle variation or the 7 months since the last bottle, but the fruit has faded, although the structure is still largely intact. This was especially noticeable on the second day. Always a bit better with food than without, this was all the more so at this point. Without knowing whether bottle variation or end of the line, I'd say that if you have this, drink it yesterday, preferably with food. 90+ …

Decanted and consumed within 2 hours. Not much different to the bottle I had in 2016, needs a lot of air, quite tart at the beginning and requires hefty food as counter part. On the nose red fruited with a hint of tertiary and ethereal notes, on the palate fresh and good structured with a long finish. Has still many years ahead, if drinking now, a long decant (better more than 2 hours) is highly recommended.

Consistent with 11/20 TN. This wine is in a better spot IMO than the last 2 tasters found, but I'd still drink sooner than later. Great structure with still solid fruit. Best as a PnP, and while good as a standalone, better with food. If scoring, 92+

This bottle was better structured and together than the last one. Well developed. Forrest dirt and fading fruit, but solid structure. Drink soon.

First of 3 from the recent large private party purchase (hard to price individual bottles, but probably around $25@). On the nose and palate with a small taste, semi-sweet black and other dark berries, earth, dried spice, smoke, and on the back end, bracing acidity and an ashy finish, giving the wine an appealing savoriness. Dark purple, surprisingly lightish-medium bodied, medium to thick legs. Pinpoint acidity, robust tannins which were not inhospitable, no heat (a moderate 13.5% abv). Medium+ on …

Dark transparent red. Delicate nose, dark fruit and spices. In the mouth fresh red fruit and well balanced taste with spices and integrated mature oak.The wine is mature now, well structured and can be drunk with pleasure for at least 5 more years, medum to full bodied, really shining now. A super match with light to medium rich meat. A great wine in memory of Lucio Mastroberardino, who we all lost much too eary. A wonderful wine with potential!

Darkish red. Medium intense nose of red cherry, earth, leather and spicy plum. Delicious red fruit, tar and chocolate flavours, very dry. Long medium tannic finish with a bit of powdery cherry left after the tannins. Sadly my last bottle. Still developing.

Ready to drink. Dill, juniper, meat in the nose. Medium body. A freshness, red cherries, lingonberries, blueberries. Very nice. Drank alongside mastroberardino Radici riserva 04 and Fatica Contadina coniderably less powefull and complex. Very nice though!

This is something - Bright red fruit, spice cake, new leather. A bit of mint and a bit more licorice. Fine tannins and a vivid acidity that carries the lengthy finish. Excellent stuff. And it will last many more years.

This is drinking very well and has benefitted from a couple more years of bottle aging. The nose is clean and medium (+) to pronounced, with dried plum, sweet baking spices, tobacco leaf and smoke. The palate is dry, consistent with the nose, with medium acidity, tannin and alcohol. It is drinking very well now, and is approachable for a Taurasi. It has several more years left to go. A great effort and a great value.

Tasted first without a decant, on the nose very mature and a bit rustic, on the palate muted and tart. After a three hours decant the nose turned to more elegant style with plum, a bit leather and a warm overall impression. On the palate much more open but still a bit tart next to the beef. Enjoyed the second part of the bottle together with some cheese and it was perfect, much more smooth and everything felt integrated, great …

Deep garnet colored. Nose is mature and quite fragrant with notes of red and black fruit, leather and spices. Medium to full bodied on the palate, it has mellow tannins and a nice balance between fruit and acidity. Very flavorful and with a good finish. A very nice and enjoyable wine which although mature, can keep for several more years.

Light red. Beautiful, elegant nose of earth, cherry, herbs and mineral. Delicious flavours and a soft dry finish. The acid never overwhelms the finish. Probably pretty close to it's peak. Enjoyed at an excellent Vancouver restaurant called Tavola.

PnP and consumed over 4 hours. Closed and tight the first 10-20 minutes in the glass, then aromas of dark red berries, newly rolled tobacco, sage and spices emerged. Full bodied, but not rich. A refined, dare I say, elegant expression of Aglianico. Few fine ripe tannins emerge on the respectable finish. Could use more depth in the mid-palate, but overall an excellent bottle that significantly outperforms its price point! Just beginning to enter its drinking window with room for …

All about rock and flowers, with fruit as an afterthought. Which is fine though, with place being expressed so clearly. The downside is this place is so far removed from any dish I really cook, sans hearty red sauce meat stew? A wine that stands apart, indifferent.

Dark garnet/ruby color. Jumps out of the glass with notes of cedar wood, plum, sweet spices (cinnamon), tobacco, wet stone/volcanic soil, ash/smoke. On the palate, there is plenty of minerality again (lavastone, ash), plum fruit , tobacco and smoke as well as sweet spices. Medium-full body with medium+ acidity and medium tannin. Long finish. This is a very beautiful and already surprisingly accessible Taurasi from one of the top producers. It’s not a monster of a wine for Taurasi, but …
