Lunch with Doug Weller; No formal notes taken - the wine was very earthy, a touch bitter and did not present itself very well on this occasion. 2011 was definitively a less good year in Franconia.

Das war nicht die beste Flasche von dem Wein. Ein bisschen kurz und stumpf, auch etwas bitter.

Light golden color, on the nose ripe pear,minerality, pebbles, acidity On palate the impression continues; wine gets more expansive but without being sweet or flabby. Still young, a good mouthful. I need to keep the remaining bottles a couple of years at least and drink the 2008 and 2010.

Bright golden color, on the nose lemon balm, prunes, lively and fresh acidity. On palate at first broader (belying the acidity on the nose) the comes an earthy, mineral taste balanced off by the acidity. At this stage it still tastes quite young, and unevolved, mostly neutral. Wine probably needs another couple of years to come together.

14kt Gold im glas; auf der Nase weisser Pfeffer, Weinbergspfirsich, verhaltene Saeure; auf dem Gaumen zuerst noch etwas neutral, öffnet sich aber beim Waermerwerden: bekommt mehr Intensität und"Elektrizität" und längeren Nachhall.

young wine, earthy nose, some acidity good weight. has not fully come together yet. Acidity nicely integrated on the palate. give it a couple of years
