Feels a bit watery, and it doesn't seem like it has developed as much as I'd hoped over the years. Cherry nose, moderate tannins, chocolatey towards the end. Still very drinkable - I guess I was hoping for more.

Tastes very woody, like the fruit has faded away and left only the oak. Savory and not dried out, exactly, but not particularly enjoyable. Disappointing.

Took some time to open up in bottle, but still drinking very well. Likely at peak. Still some tannins left. Nose is killer right now with forest floor and graphite - my favorites. Would drink within next couple of years.

This wine is in a great place right now. PnP and needed ~ 1 hour to come together and open up. Excellent nose. Still plenty of structure left to last another 5 years or so... but why wait?

There is a lot of just ripened pomegranate like flavors in this wine - almost no sweetness, acid driven fruit and even the bitterness of chewing pomegranate seeds comes through at the end and adds structure. On the bottle, they say old world style, but to me, it is clearly new world fruit driven wine. Color: Ruby with a near opaque core Smell: Earth, dark fruit, tobacco, clove, and spice Taste: Vibrant and ripe blue and black fruits, anise, and cedar Overall: This wine was Very Good and I could see some people really liking this style. It's very well made and clearly from California, with some restraint and grace that can get lost at times in the power and clarity of the pure fruit notes.

A great Christmas Eve wine. Lots of cherry fruit and some mellow oak. We had it with pulled pork, which tamed the Ravenswood tannins quite a bit.

58% merlot, 42% cabernet sauvignon. Blueberries, blackberries, very complex with strong backbone. A bit of stemminess, but Chris is certain that there is not any cabernet franc in this blend, must come from the cabernet sauvignon. Balanced, excellent structure, suspect that this will be an exceptionally long lived Pickberry, give this some time

Color: Garnet Smell: Blackberry, blueberry, anise, and chewing tobacco Taste: Blueberry, blackberry, granite, and vanilla Overall: I have to say that initially I had the expectation that this wasn't going to be a wine that I could get behind. however, there is a structure, quality, and style to this that seems in excellent balance. Clearly Californian...but with style and grace that is often lost in the quest for fruit. Excellent now and possibly Outstanding in time.

life left in this bottle...solid fruit and structure; expected a bit softer at 15 (paired with bbq chicken) but tannins were still present and cab dominated in hindsight would have paired with bigger food maybe from the grill

63% Cab, 28% Merlot, 9% Cab Franc. Last year of the cab sauvignon dominance, thereafter Pickberry went with majority of merlot. Bit of a problem with the cork on this one, not soaked through but it fractured, lot of sediment in this bottle to decant for sure. Very nice effort, big cab mouth feel, tannins coming on line but this has plenty of backbone to add on more years. Cab franc noticeable in the finish but all in all in …

Fabulous bottle, great find on Wine-Searcher. Deep ruby red color, full mouthfeel with long long finish.. Very interesting hint of anise in the finish; peaking nicely but has enough stuffing to last another 10 years. Can't wait to put this up against some of the other 1996 Cab blends
