Domaine de Galouchey VdJ

Nose: strong peppercorn, cherries, strawberries, cocoa, leather, dust, herbs & spices Palate: black cherry, cherry, cocoa, tobacco, dark bitter chocolate, hint of caramel, blackberry Overall a great balance of strong aromas and complex lasting flavor. Such a pleasant surprise I will definitely be back for this wine.

Really fun. Classic Bordeaux notes, but all out of whack. Red and Blue Fruits, but the red fruits dominate. Some pencil led up front with sharp acid to follow. Super fragrant, blackberry and oak notes are prominent. Tannins are present but fairly soft. Hard to find wine this dynamic and interesting for $40.

Very Bordeaux-like – and at the same time not at all. Quite wonderful actually. The graphite, the dark fruit, the licorice, the dried herbs – all there. But also full of fresh herbs, red cherries, grilled jalapeños, cocoa. Maybe not the longest of finishes, but I don’t mind really. Nice, light grip from the tannins and a very juicy body. Gulp, gulp.

Lite som en bourgogne. Fint och elegant. På näverlur.

Gorgeous. Fresh and elegant. Concentrated, deep, dark and rich fruits on the nose, smoke. Light/medium on the palate.

A Bordeaux with pzazz, yet honours its classic heritage!
