One might argue that the concept of a Viellies Vignes designation on a bottle of Beaujolais is an oxymoron. However, in this case, the notation may have some merit, since as I undestand it the wine undergoes traditional vinification vs. carbonic maceration, the mainstay of most Beaujolais production.
