Quinta de Macedos Douro

Rather good. The other notes are spot on, a dry vintage port with (slightly!) less alcohol. Great chunks of dark fruits, blackberry, blueberry and others. Spicy, peppery. Aromatics. Fair acidity. The oak tannins are just a bit too rough or splintery for a higher score. But great clarity and full of life. Very good wine. But not for the faint of heart.

Deep purple colour with a red rim Initially so powerful, lots of oak, alcohol and fruit. Hard to believe this is 13 years old.
