At the winery. Open and quite rich, blackcurrant fruit, anilla. Exceptional purity here. Medium/full bodied, lovely pure blackcurrant fruit, soft tannins, deep with vibrant acids and Avery long finish. Excellent, nudging outstanding. Approachable now but will also age well.

Has not matured a great deal, although lost the vegetal notes I previously picked up. Cool purple fruited, oak influenced, plush and full bodied. Not the most engaging bottle of wine but don't think you can get a much better cab at the price point. Planning to hold my remaining bottles to see what development might come. I feel like it could take a while though, time will tell

Very similar impressions to the previous bottle. Biggish fruit up front that dominates. Comes across a bit simplistic because the other elements struggle to get a look in. Did not have the opportunity to keep some for the second day, so not sure on this bottle if it evolves. The fruit is good by the way.

Hard to judge. On day 1, the fruit was to the fore, and the wine came across as somewhat simplistic. Nice varietal notes, but lacking in structure - fruit dominant. On day 2, the fruit had mellowed a little, and structure was more apparent. Its not a top shelf wine, but give it time to open up and it shows some nice elements.

Genau mein Ding. Fruchtbombe mit viel Körper. Schwarze Beeren und Schokolade. Wirklich lecker!

Fantastic, beautiful cabernet nose; bay, blueberry, cassis, chocolate. Nice youthful fruit driven nose. Palate follows, bit of menthol and capsicum not indicated on the nose. Medium+ bodied with complexity, cassis, coffee, chocolate, cedar. Drying tannin coats the mouth and is a driver for a long finish. Not the biggest MR cab fan boy because of the always increasing prices and think they take a long time to soften to where I like them. This is a steal though and I …

I normally don’t drink reds this young but the JH 97 review got me interested. The colour so dark, almost uniform black. Strong aroma of herb and spice, brambles and dark fruit. So powerful, required a quick decant but then delicious. Strong full body, full of pepper and spice, strong spicy tannin. Clearly a bit sharp now but so much potential. I love it. Glad I opened one but I will put the rest aside for a couple of years, …
