Devium Red Wine French Creek Vineyard

Light on its feet, this is drinking well. A mellow finish, this is a nice wine to fiddle about and enjoy life without compression.

Smooth polished finish, this has dark berry fruit and a provocative nose.

Splash decant; thin and acidic, showing red and blue fruit, earth, and gritty black tea tannins. Smoothed out some with additional air time, but could use more time in the cellar. Drink 2025-2030.

More expressive nose now with grape and forest aromas. Light bodied acidic palate with an abrupt finish. I like the style but the fruit is very light.

Drinking well. Seemed to open up more after a 30 minute decant.

Uniquely flavored wine. Tasty.

Short decant. Nose of dirt, black fruit, tea. One of the only non-Cab Franc wines to show me green pepper flavors...odd, that. Cement dust, black and blue fruits, a bit of smoke. Drink now - 2028.

I've enjoyed drinking these over the past year but I can't help but notice that they have gotten slightly less enjoyable over time. Maybe just entering a sleepy period. Will keep the last one to see what happens. Grapey purple fruit, gripping from the cement, the slightest hint of smoke/ash. Still like it a lot, but one of the few wines I like less now than on release, which is weird.

A bit of cement and distant dark/red fruit on the nose. Some grape flavors with sandy tannin. On the understated side.
