Brooding nose of dark fruits, spices and plums, some cola notes from the barrel, followed by a very rich, all blue and black fruits inflected mouthfeel, sappy and silky mid palate, with excellent depth of flavors, ending in a powerful and long finish. It had pronounced fruit on the darker side and I recognise a spice signature (Coca Cola element would you believe) which I also found in his Echezeaux ‘15 which is utterly charming. Decanted for approx 2 1/2h. As already noted by others, completely seductive nose of red and dark fruits, "spice" and wood. Nose just want to lock in on the glas and never leave. Cool, dark fruits in the mouth. Just hits the right chord and stays there in a pretty long finish. Great tension. Lovely balance. 94-95p.

Helt vanvittig rik, mørk, dyp og sødmefull nese, selv korken dufter fantastisk. Mørkerøde bær, floral, mineralsk, noe fat, lakris, tobakk og underskog. Elegant og ren frukt, tiltalende og forførerisk. Slankt og delikat anslag, flott tekstur og stofflighet. Stor konsentrasjon og vanvittig struktur i finish. Nydelig lengde, med nedslipte tanniner. Ren og pur nytelse. En fantastisk raffinert og presis vin.

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction; 2/19/2016-2/20/2016 (Tru Restaurant - Chicago IL) : Dense, black and very meaty with black pepper, licorice and some mint I found very enticing. Very good balance. Still way too young, but harmonious already.
