Maison Albert Bichot Vosne-Romanée Domaine du Clos Frantin

No formal notes, enjoyed with lunch. Good from the get go but continued to improve with time in the glass/bottle. Last glass was the best so showed there’s still benefit keeping this a while longer

Nice BG. Decant as it needs two hours to open.

Decent, mature. Lacks depth and typical traits though

Very closed to begin with on opening. Thought it was so muted that I might have picked a dud but thankfully came round with some air time Strawberry and cherry fruit, a touch of mintyness and background barnyard note Decent drop

Came across this at a different restaurant and had to order a bottle. Once again, in a lovely spot with the game and fruit nicely interwoven and the tannins and acidity providing a solid but unobtrusive frame. Only slightly bitter and short finish prevents it from gaining a higher score (albeit we came to this after drinking a grand cru, so not particularly fair!).

Another bottle today, at the same restaurant. no particular complexity, but frankly delicious Burgundy, with gamey nose, tangy cherry fruit and notable drinkability.

Really good quality village wine - juicy, moreish, a touch of savouriness - we ordered a second bottle.

I little muted right now, but good potential. Wait two years.

Very pretty and so much more than a village and drinks very well now, probably at peak in a way. Good dark fruit edge, light smoky feel, good touches of spice. Soft fruit, good round feel on the palate and barring a few green edges on the finish we were very happy with this. 89-90 and drink now

nice spice on the nose, warming limited finish.
