Bottle 1267g. Moderately intense aromas of white grapefruit zest and pith, and baby powder. Dry, with moderate to elevated acidity and light to medium-bodied, 12% abv. White pepper and citrus zest, saline finish. Refreshing.

loads of grapefruit, tarragon, and wet stones with some smoke and honey. on the palate medium high acidity is balanced by ripe fruit with a great herbaceous undertone. maybe a little heat but great. So drinkable but can be thought about too

Peach and dirt in the nose. Flavors include white peach, bitter, bitters, wax and stone fruit pit. Maybe a bit of fruit pith too.

Nose: The nose has a real freshness, but there is also a real spiciness too with pears, melons, white pepper, peaches, and crushed rocks. Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity. The feel is well balanced with pears, melons, spice notes, and white pepper, but it is lacking on the mid-palate. Overall: This is showing more than it was 2 years ago, but it is still lacking that final gear.

Floral, oily and solid in mouthfeel. Some acidity but not too much. Just a hint of peach, and better at about 45 or 50 degrees F. Probably overpaid in a mixed Garagiste case.

solid albeit not spectacular...would have liked a bit more fruit, body and umph, although lightness was a plus after the weight of Thanksgiving meal

Fresh nose of honeydew melon, white pepper, and floral dried herbs. Quite open, and medium to full bodied on the palate, with reach peach, tart pear, radish, and ginger spice. Expressive grapefruit acidity provides balance, and is especially prominent on the finish. Drink or hold.

2011 Franz Hirtzberger Dinner (Sun Wah BBQ - Chicago, IL) : Drinking in a good spot. Plush nose of melons, pears and pepper. Palate was on the riper side but was properly balanced with sizzling acidity. A very accesible Gruner.

A slew of 2011 Franz Hirtzbergers (Sun Wah BBQ, Chicago IL) : Nose: There is a nice freshness to the tones of oranges, pears, peaches, and some spice tones. While there is good complexity to the nose it does lack some depth. Taste: Medium bodied with medium acidity. This has nice balance with good tones of oranges, pears, and peaches. While the tones are good, it does lack some depth and is more on the surface. Overall: This is a …
