Belle Glos was founded by the Wagner family, who also founded and still own Caymus in Napa Valley. Good fruit with some oak undertones. Age has brought a nice elegance to the overall structure. Getting some cinnamon in the nose and great red fruit notes on the palate. Tasting fine on day 3, so definitely not over the hill.

Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined and refrigerated), note from day 2. Nose: Medium intensity, ripe black cherry and licorice with undertones of sour cherry and sweet tobacco. Palate: Medium-full bodied, dark red fruit attack - black cherry and pomegranate, sweet tobacco and spice notes appear mid-palate, fruit turns slightly tart in the back-end - cranberry notes dominate. Finish: Medium length, dominated by smoky cranberry. Drinking well for a 13 year old Santa Barbara pinot, but I would say this is …

Still good. Not as subtle as I hoped. May be a bit past prime drinking time.

Magnum pop-n-pour. Outstanding still. Great fruit with some oak undertones. Medium finish. Perfect with ham dinner.

Sill a fruit forward wine but now so much more in balance. Age has brought a nice elegance to the overall structure and all the components seem completely in sync now.

Had with grilled salmon- very good pairing. In a nice place right now. Good example of the modern Cali style with plenty of warm mouth-filling fruit, good balance, good mouth-feel, and enough acidity to keep it all together for the making of a pleasant evening.

I'll start with my conclusion...this has aged but hasn't done much else. It all just wilted a bit and didn't develop any new qualities. A cherry cola martini (dirty), spice, perfumey, low acid and stale, short finish. Nearing the end of the window. That probably sounds pretty bad but its a passable quaffer, I just had higher expectations.

Classic. Didn't take detailed notes. Paired well with Turkey Leg Confit. Getting toward the end of it's window.

Explosive nose of cherry cola; augmented with beetroot, forest floor, and hints mint leaves. Dark fruits in on the palate, still a fine balance of acidity and fruit with soft velvety tannins. Finish lingers for 40+ seconds.

Still fruity but not very complex. The mouth feel was a bit chewy for my taste.

What a difference from the last time I had this. A super ripe, alcoholic aromatic profile that reminded me of Cherry Pepsi. Overripe palate, black cherry and prunes, with blacker spice notes. Full bodied and very hot on the finish. This bares little resemblance to Pinot Noir in my opinion. Very disappointing.

Wears its 14.6% alcohol very lightly. Manages to be delicate. Light body, acidic. Ripe red fruit.

Another terrific Pinot, an earlier vintage of this knocked my socks off some years ago and made me a fan of this big full throttle style. Not Burgundian but a great wine in its own way

Excellent, consistent with the Wagner's to have such bombastic Pinot but it works and is oh so tasty! - Dark, full bodied wtih a nose of cherry, cranberry, cola, cinammon, spice and vanilla, well structured, mature, balanced, very interesting, sweet, smooth on the palate with outstanding length, nice! (90 Points).

Trip to Solvang and Los Olivos (Los Olivos, CA and Solvang, CA) : Tasted non-blind at Tastes of the Valleys in Solvang, CA. Nose of bright, candied fruit. Same thing on the palate but it becomes sugary with hints of Pepsi. Very hot wine and seems like headache material. Very little resemblance to what pinot should be in this tasters opinion.

Tart cherries and cranberry. The fruits have toned down nicely since a year ago and it is better balanced now.

Around the World Pinot Noir (My Basement Suite) : A: Minty/Lavender Floral, Perfume/Soap. Stemmy T: Great Texture, Lavender Perfume, Floral, Dark Cherry Conc: I love the texture/weight of this wine, the nose is way different the mintiness or whatever you want to call it comes through and everyone in the group agreed

You could see the potential in this vineyard, but it was not to be in 2007. Beautiful strawberry and red raspberry up front but the mid-palate hollows out and the finish is spicy but not in a good way. Structure is what is lacking here, and the finish was disjointed and overwhelming for the fruit.

What a nice Pinot. I drank this way too fast...well, that is the way it goes sometimes.
