Domaine d'Ardhuy Côte de Nuits Villages Clos des Langres

Leading the way with a well tuned symphony of hillside Cote-de-Nuits aromas on the nose, pure Pinot character with a touch of age, wild raspberry, sous-bois, dry aged beef, leafy herbs. The palate is tighter, less flamboyant, but pure and poised with wild raspberry and burnt sandalwood. Slightly highish acidity on the finish, '07 style, but excellent concentration of flavour whilst retaining its balance and finess. Very nice, true to type.

Does not reveal much. Herbs and a bit greenwith some red fruit. Nothing memorable.

Nose expresses led pencil, a lot of minerals as well as a rather reluctant red fruit. Palate reveals a pleasant acidity, balanced oak and a non-focused end-palate. (score is 89-90)

A little smoky (sulphur perhaps) on the nose; on the palate, round and spicy in comparison to the 08; again, very decent. 90+
