Sample tasting at work (Oinoscent) : Full on sweet oak frame, sweet spices, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, ripe and overripe plums, there is a Cabernet Franc essence here Palate is smooth, juicy red fruit, oak more restrained, clove, maybe a bit dry, med finish Typical Bordeaux

Gorgeous Garnet color. Pepper and blackberry on the nose. First taste on open: cherry, leather, strong tannins, white pepper. 20 minutes, tannins receding nicely, cherry stepping forward, unexpected complexity revealing itself. Raspberry coming in. 40 minutes, unfortunately no change, was hoping for more. Paired very well with Ribeye and Ossobuco

Needs a thorough decant. Saddle leather on the nose. Medium-bodied, it is mellow on the palate and perhaps a bit one-dimensional at the beggining (but what a nice dimension it is) with supple, dark fruit. The dash of Cab Sav/Cab Franc provides needed structure at the finish. Paid $51 CAD.

Slight clearing on edges. Quiet on the nose to open but cleared up with agitation. Earth, dark plum, rhubarb, charcuterie, lavender, juniper, liquorice and sweet fennel. Palate is similar with cassis and a vanilla finish. There is a slight green element and a bit of heat, finish was slightly short.

Soft and supple with a balanced finish. Fully mature and excellent with a strip loin grilled steak, medium rare.

Taste with Winebow at FHE. Supple. Elegant, classic Merlot styling. Inky, purple spice and flowers. Fresh moderate body with some youthful grip.
