Gabriel Billard Bourgogne

Maybe a bit closed at this point. Sour cherry flavors but the tartness and acidity out-weigh the fruit at this point. My last bottle so I won't get to see if this develops further.

Mediumbodied with sour cherry, cranberry, and pomegranate flavors. Slight earthiness on the nose. Paired with seared tuna steak.

K&L Wines Burgundy Tasting (San Francisco) : Tasted at K&L Wines. Opened approximately 2 hours but not decanted. Quick notes: pretty cherry nose. On the palate: tons of charcoal and wood with drying fruit and some hints of cherry cough drops. Needs food. Fair.

Light medium cherry red color; big, tart cherry and red fruit, cherry pie nose; tart, pinched, rustic, red fruit and rosehips palate, with high acidity; short finish

Bright cherry with a touch of currant and cranberry. Not terribly complex but good fruit and balance. Matched well with grilled tuna steaks with a pepper rub.
