Almost 3 years on from our last bottle. Very pale yellow. A restrained nose at first, as before, but better after an hour or so (and having warmed above fridge temperature) which allowed the characteristic kerosene flavours to emerge on the nose and palate. Lemon and lime on the very dry, lean, light palate with the attractive lemon/lime acidity softened by some lemon curd flavours. Still quite austere and elegant with good length. Very good with spicy Thai food later. …

Straw coloured; classic Clare lime & chalk though on muted side; rather limited & inexpressive palate, bracing acidity, skinny; diffident finish. Drink up.

I agree with johnrm. This is quite an approachable and excellent introduction to Clare riesling. The couple of extra year's storage have been enough to enhance this considerably.

Very pale colour. Restrained nose at first but the wine needed 30mins+ to begin to open and it was much better after warming substantially above fridge temperature. A very dry, light, lean palate with lemon/lime acidity. Quite austere and with good length. It was a good partner to oven-baked salmon. Also, attractive with cheese later - a Cornish Brie softened it nicely. Good after a night in the fridge. I disagree with earlier comments about ageing potential. We are enjoying …

Pale Lemon Medium intensity Lemon, lime, lime zest, lime cordial, green apple, emerging light petrol notes showing as Vaseline Dry, high acidity Medium (-) alcohol, medium (-) body Medium intensity, medium finish Flavours as aromas A good wine showing balance between quality fruit and high acidity, the light petrol notes show good varietal typicity. Clearly well made but lacks depth and complexity. The wine has quite simple flavours with little intensity and the finish fades quite quickly. Drink now, not …

{screwcap, 11.5%} Fresh nose, soft limes infused with ginger. Palate is a bit low in acid - it needs a good chill - which gives it a medium-bodied feels and a slightly flabby quality. Tastes per the nose in a low-key way, has a medium length dry finish. OK for the short term, no more.

Festival of Alex - Clare Valley Cellar Doors : Floral, chalk, lemon pith and apple. High pitched acidity, bright and fresh with a good clean finish. Youthful but should progress well.

Perhaps a little light, but good length and very classic Aussie-riesling.

Nice, but not very interesting. Unfocused acidity, almost a stale note. Didn't improve at all from storage. I liked it much better when it was younger - freshness is not gone, but diminished.

Clear nose, petroleum and mineral, not obvious fruit. Dry with high acid, medium+ body, smooth and ripe fruit. Really nice. Vill last for a long time.

Lovely nose a bit more vibrant and buttery than the 2006. You still find that nice miinerality present thatr is typical of riesling. for the price I still think this wine is a steal. Should still drink well in 4 years from now.

A really nice wine this - lovely chalky, minerally nose with a hint of apple and petrol. In the mouth there is a fantastic tension between bracing acidity and apple-like fruit. Very Australian Reisling, this speaks of terroir. I like it a lot and it is also cheap as chips.

Cellar door. Floral nose with lime and hint of petrol. Dry, tight structure with intense fruit which makes for a lovely, soft balance. Great example of the appealing contradictions of riesling

Lime and fruit on the nose but almost Chablis minerality to taste, still a good expression of new world ambition.

NobleRottersSydney - Clare Valley (Alio's, Surry Hills) : [11.6%, screwcap] {guest-Kevin} Fruit for this is pulled from six local vineyards, and the wine is made only from free run juice. Given that, the nose is as you’d expect; soft, clean lemon-cheesecake aromas lead to a flowery, fresh, soft and even palate. Caught still pretty much in its youth, there’s prickly acidity present, but the wine remains gentle and friendly. Good even palate of fairly low intensity. Probably not for long …
