Mongeard-Mugneret Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Plateaux

PnP. Super intense aromatics out of the glass--wild berries, black cherries, spice cabinet, forest floor, and a touch of cedar. Fruit is incredibly clean on the palate, though a touch on the lighter side. A bit of a cool mineral streak comes through. Medium to medium short finish. Really nice village level Nuits that should continue to improve.

Healthy medium ruby. Aromas of cherry and oak. Relatively rich red fruit and soil with good acidity, but the flavors seem muddled and poorly defined. Could improve, good material.

2014 Red Burgundies (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA) : 100% destalked frt (ave age of vines 45 years) grown on argillocalcareous soil from middle jurassic with faults, 30-40% typicallyaged in new oak barrels. N: Closed; some cherries/spice?
