Popped and poured. Mainly consumed by dinner guests, and I was left with little time (and wine) to take proper notes. Seemed nice enough though – generous fruit, refreshing minerality and food friendly acidity. Served with pork ribs and homemade sausages.

This was okay but not worth the $42 that I paid.

This is lean and dry enough that it might have qualified as austere except for the fact that the fruit is intensely bright and vivacious. I tend to find Alsatian riesling a little drab compared to the Germans and Austrians but that's not the case here. It's tensile, bone-dry, and has a bit of that buzzing energy that adds some life to the texture.

(at Eleven Madison Park – NYC) Still tight, but showing good richness, a mild honey character on the finish and persistent flavors. Good, but not a great bottle from Mann. (88+)

Slate, lychee, melon, lemon zest, and honey on the expressive nose. Very intense palate, that softens a bit on the second day. Lots of material, good balance, but riper than usual. Reminds me of the 2002, but with more overall balance, glycerol, minerality and material. You can drink it now on its youth, but it will probably drink even better in 7 to 10 years time. 92+.

A Weekend of Solid Wines; 2/25/2011-2/27/2011 (Washington, D.C.) : lime, lemon zest and honeydew melon on the palate fat, plump fruit on the palate, but there's also a great amounct of slate and lime, especially on the finish.
