10.5% abv. AP 12. Clearly marked with flavor of middle mosel; storybook protagonist sensations; of winesap orchard yield, salt/lime/piña/green apple. A hush of petrol midway suggests material for elaboration. I'll set aside the second half of this bottle to extend this with pertinent updates. ________ 20 hours later, resealed in the fridge, it does taste an increment better—more accomplished, complete, and integrated. Barely scratching the surface here. I'm looking to test the ten year rule on the next bottle. 92++

Agree completely with the below note. Cooling nose with lighter orchard fruits and florals, great tension between depth and drive in the mouth. Long acid forward finish. Very light on the sweetness, with excellent balance. I will say this was rather shut down the first couple of nights we had it open, and only gently woke up nights 3 and 4, so likely has a long life.

Drank over multiple days. Nose has main impression of minerality and lemons supported by faint florality and wet stones. Wine has thrilling tension in the mouth with high acidity rounded out by a hint of residual sweetness. Aromas are mainly in the green apple and citrus register accompanied with subtle florals. I found the interplay between the tight structure and somewhat reserved aromas very interesting and enjoyable. Perfectly fine to enjoy this wine now!

It has been a year since trying this wine, so I thought I should probably check in to see how it was doing. I opened the bottle last week and drank about 2/3 of the bottle, popped the cork back in and 7 days later finished it. On day one this showed an array of fruit notes ranging from piquant Empire apples, to slightly exotic tropical mango, and finally some charred citrus and bergamot notes. An amazing mix of fruit …

Beautiful and enjoyable as ever but I didn't spend a lot of time with this bottle. Ripping acidity, balanced by a touch of sweetness and very enjoyable.

This is outstanding Mosel. I am scoring on the Cellar Tracker scale, not some Alt Right wanker scale that no-one else uses. There was a time when the great German Rieslings commanded higher prices than White Burgundy. A wine like this shows why. This has everything that Grand Cru White Burgundy or Chablis has - minerality, the fist in a velvet glove and nothing short of serious emotional pull. The nose is almost overwhelming; ripe melon and tropical fruit but …
