Deep garnet color. Intense, beautiful nose showing rose floral notes, bright red cherry, cloves, herbs. The palate is fine but powerful and grippy tannins, black pepper spice, intense cherry, tar. Beautiful, this could go another 10-20 years easily.

****see previous notes Wow. This wine is in the zone. Dried rose petals, tar, sour cherry compote, some olive tapenade, and a.little bit of meatiness.This wine is a finesse monster. Just beautiful. Drink now or hold 18.months. It won't get any better, however, but no signs of it fading yet. PORCHETTA dinner tonight paired perfectly.

EH 28/6/2024 (Scopri) : Dark and somewhat at the richer end of the scale. Drinking nicely and should show well for a few more years yet.

Two hour decant... BOOM! Brownish colored. Super floral nose. Some red licorice but faint. Tea, sangre, leather notes. Sublime on the palate. Balanced acidity and tannin. Long finish. Fruit leather. Some earthy cedar notes. Very focused. Just damn delicious and even better paired with Sura Korean takeout food tonight. BIRTHDAY weekend continues. I loved this bottle.

Very fine Barolo. Etheral nose and a nice palate with some rather pronounced but good tannins.

Bright Ruby color, nose - black fruits, leather, smoke notes. Long finish, medium tannins, full body, very complex. Has at least another 5 years in the drinking window. Excellent.

Opened with a 2007 Vigna del Gris. The Vigna Del Gris was ready to drink - this wanted at least 10 more years. Who says terrier only exists in France?!

P&P, dark transparent red-brown, fine dark cherries with earthy notes, firm dry tannins, well structured and complexed, fine earthy-truffles finish and aftertaste

Day1 : I had this at the winery at Easter and it was showing a lot more breadth there - this bottle in London was thinner and had a slight metallic note on the finish 91/100 Day 2: after a night in the fridge this had put on weigh and depth, strangely it was showing more oak and more structure. Probably best to leave these for 5 years rest 94/100

Wine Warehouse Pre Event 2016 Spring Tastings, nose of dusty earth, black fruit, plum, and saddle leather, very tasty fruit, biggest body and most intense of the 4 wines tasted today, needs 5 years to peak, better on the palate than the nose for me, long finish, will show more for sure.

Slightly higher altitude than the Vigna del Gris and the Sori Ginestra. Perfumed notes of flowers, dark red fruits, licorice, tobacco. Medium-full bodied with medium-high acidity and medium-high tannin. Everything is in very good balance. Good length. An elegant and fresh Mosconi (which is not always the case in this Cru). I personally prefer the Sori Ginestra but a really pretty Barolo! (92+)

Piemont Tour; 11/20/2015-11/22/2015 (Monforte, Serralunga, Barolo, Barbaresco) : Florale, rotbeerige Nase. Toll, offen und sehr duftig! Am Gaumen etwas verhaltener als der Vigna der Gris, aber etwas weniger Struktur als Sori Ginestra. Veilchen und Marzipan Extrakt!

More ripe fruit than the Sori Ginestra, more massive and even more structure. This is serious stuff indeed.
