Dark crimson / blackish. Lightly fragrant nose. Deep blackcurrant after swirling. Some underlying licorice and cedar but not v prominent for now. A little thin of fruit and a bit hot on the finish. It is an ok drink but not that interesting. Not as good as the Jancis recommendation would have led me to believe.

Light, some bricking. Mute nose. Drying savoury entry. Fresh tasting fruit vying for position with woody tobacco mid palate. Short-medium finish. This is one for food and running out of stuffing.

Decanted for 1 hour and aerated in Venturi. Dark ruby red, long legs. Nose is subdued, green pepper and alcohol. Flavor is herbaceous, with evergreen and green pepper. Fairly simple profile.

I opened one to try on the same day I bought some. Initially it was very thin and watery but put on a little weight and depth after a couple of hours. Quite agreeable flavours of blackberry and cherry, elegant rather than thin: better for now than the 2010 tried simultaneously.

Deep reddish purple. Blackberry, cedar, raspberry develops with more air, sweet tobacco. Somewhat simple palate, blackberry, tobacco. Tannin a bit too up front night one but softens significantly with air, snappy acid keeps it refreshing. I will buy again.

Decanted and drank within an hour with grilled steak over a bed of jicama / green apple / cilantro slaw. Worked really nicely with the freshness of the meal. Blood, burnt cherries, iron, a hint of juniper and pine tar, roasted meats mixed with hints of blackberries. Mildly astringent. White pepper and leather. Very pleasant wine, and good QPR.

WIML88 Tasted non blind at a wine tasting. Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of smoke, white pepper, currants, black cherries and potpourri. Flavors of berries, cherries and a bit of raspberries. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with air or hold.

Wonderful brick red moving to garnet toward the rim. Fresh, lively nose. Some characteristic funk along with hints of vegetation. On the contrary to many if the recent reviews my bottle had held out pretty well cigar box and bramble nose with cigar box also on the palete with a blackcurrant burst in the middle, rounding off with red cherry tannins nice and smooth and length while not long, didn't become water like many of therecent reviews say vacuvin'd and stuck in fridge for further consumption tomorrow

In truth this was never a great wine, and age hasn't managed to work a miracle here. Good colour, cedar on the nose but pronounced damp notes spoil the effect. Not over the hill since it has sufficient tannins to hold it together, but one dimensional, with too much oak still, and no length at all, so disappointing despite being soft and mature.

Deep red, good uniform color. Earthy, good nose. No impression of it being 'over', because there is still some tannin, but agree with other tastings that it leaves the palate unimpressed, no fruit to find.

Barely drinkable. Cork was perfect, early nose was decent - almost interesting - wet cedar and light cherry in the first minutes but gave way to wet barnyard for over an hour. First entry to palate was an equally promising cherry, but fell apart immediately to water. Boring, thin and void of any finish. Two to three hours decanting did nothing to improve other than to turn barnyard to wet earth. Re-corked and will use as cooking wine.

Very earthy tones, a bit watery and rugged at first but seemed to improve with decanting. Had with lamb and fennel dish and held up nicely. Seemed to exude vegetable garden and soil notes with a hint of licorice and just a touch of fruit. A little more Interesting wine than an average $17 bottle, but not spectacular.

Paper filtered and decanted yielding a small amount of dusty residue. The resulting wine was fragant with typical Bordeaux aromas of cedar and red fruit. The wine was very soft and drinkable -- perfectly matured to a lovely ripe red fruit mouthful of flavor. Really interesting wine. Really strong dominant Cassis on the front, with pencil shavings and pleasant earthy funk on the finish. I've never tasted such a strong pencil shaving flavor. Really a fun quaff. I can understand the complaint that it is not completely integrated, but I thought that it had great balance and the tannins were evident without being harsh.

This is a unique wine; it is all earth with very little fruit. Drank this with a black truffle dish, perfect pair. The nose is full of black truffle, black pepper, and dirt/earth/potting soil. The palate is less fulfilling, somewhat empty with continued earthy flavors and some fairly firm tannins. I enjoyed it because the nose was very distinct, unfortunately the palate is disappointing.

This one has a very dark red colour. The fragrance is dominated by tobacco and black pepper. Cabernet Sauvignon seems to be the boss. The tannins are still powerful, but it is already drinkable. In taste it appears to be quiet crude and not really smooth or gentle. The acid is quite strong, supposedly a bit too strong. Not really very concentrated. I guess 2001 wasn't the year for this wine.

Interesting nose of dirty baby diapers right out of the bottle that eventually blew off to bell pepper and pencil lead and red fruit. Palate was thin with next to no structure, but it was interesting to see how it developed over the course of an hour or two. Better than when I had it a year ago
