A friend brought this to our 12/11/11 Spanish wine tasting. It had a heavy, ripe bouquet of black cherry, mocha, smoke, burnt toast, charcoal, vanilla and spice. The palate was ripe and creamy with flavors of black cherry, mocha, chocolate, burnt toast, vanilla and spice.

Actually drank the 2009. Young and a bit tannic. Nice berry and spice flavors on the mid-palette. Finish was faded and somewhat tart. Paired nicely with an aged Manchego which balanced the acidity.
