Camins 2 Dreams Yila'

The Wine Society Autumn 2025 Press Tasting (Southwark) : Intensely sweet and actually quite lovely. I have no idea why I like this, it is the sort of thing I go out of my way to avoid.

This is something quite different. 100% Carignan. Santa Ynez vineyard in the eastern portion of the Happy Canyon AVA. Vineyard is only 10 minutes away from the Pacific and receive a maximum of four hours direct sunlight. Very much cooler climate. Had to play around with glasses, but ended with Riedel Hermitage. Still quite ripe with lots of bright fruit and even has a touch of sweetness. That being said, it’s lightly structured and has lovely grip to finish.

Well structured and balanced. Not the deepest of tastes but full of fruit. Would be lost against a rich dish but worked very well with a gently spiced Moroccan dish. A useful education in a style I don't often drink.
