This wine was on the back side of its prime in 2025.

Opened straight out of the cellar. A medium+ purplish ruby, the open nose beckons with dark cherry and black licorice. On the palate, dark cherry, black plum, blackberry, licorice, and a touch of garrigue. Very open straight away, and also was quite good at or near cellar temperature. Many wines are shut down at cellar temps, but not this one. Our final bottle and the best one yet.

Theusualsuspect summed this wine up nicely. Even a couple of years later, my notes match their's pretty closely. It's a nice drink (best after open for a couple of hours). Everyone notes the fruit forward nature of it (which is true), there is nice tannic and acid structure underneath. It's not flabby by any means. There's a lot of complexity in this wine, and it could get a little better for some palates, but I wouldn't wait longer to enjoy …

Fully displays the love it or hate it modern style on steroids lush style of the 2009's. Blueberry red fruity. But perhaps a bit lacking in balance. Eye opening lush polished fruit on entry but with a finish that fades quickly. That said, goes down quite easily. Given the price, certainly not a disappointment. After three hours fleshed out a bit further along the palate, but still ended short. I wouldn't rule out the future resolving this.

At $19, this remains terrific value. Relative to my prior tastings in 2015-2016, this has improved but is not yet past its peak. It has an effective and fun combination of minerality streak, tobacco and cigar notes, and some deep fruit. The heat is a tad too high, but without being overwhelming.

Relative to prior bottles, this tasted too ripe and unbalanced. Same notes of cigar and leather on the palate though. Remains a good value for the money.

Less impressive than the previous bottles but still pretty good, especially for the price. Tannic upon opening; much less so with decanting. Cigar and leather notes on the palate. Fruit is plush and sweet. A bit unbalanced.

This is a highly undervalued wine that is a much better value and joy than many Napa cabs twice the price. This bottle is consistent with the previous 12+ bottles I've tried over the past two years. Requires 30+ minutes of decanting (preferably, 1.5 hours) to open up, with cigar and horse sweat notes on the palate. Plenty of tannins and good, sufficient acidity; will cellar well for another 5-7 years (if not 10-15+). A tad too hot on the …

Very much consistent with prior notes. Barely any bottle variation from 12+ bottles bought over the last two years (from several merchants). A highly satisfying and reliable daily drinker, that opens up nicely after 30+ minutes of breathing. Delightful cigar/tobacco and leather notes on the palate. Good deep fruit after some breathing.

Drank over 2 days. First day solid. Second day, the nose improved dramatically - floral and spice.

Honest and elegant, showing violets, incense, blueberry, mild blackberry, some figs, noticeable minerality, vegetal tones and leather. All in place, within a medium body, nicely framed and in perfect harmony, balance and intensity. Nice classy tobacco finish. What else could anyone expect on a bordeaux in this price range? 91

Consistent with prior bottles, cigar and horse sweat notes on the palate. Plenty of tannins. Moderately sweet fruit on the palate. A tad too hot on the palate. After several hours, ran out of energy, becoming plain and lackluster. Good daily drinker, overall.

Nose of black cherries, cedar, plums, and spices. Palate had black fruit and a slight vegetal component; complimentary though. Good acid, smooth tannins, good fruit, medium length. Fairly simple, but very nice for what it is, a daily drinker. In a good spot right now if you like your wine a bit on the austere side (like me.)

Upon opening, tasted closed down, with muted fruit on the palate. After 30-40 minutes of air, fruit got sweeter and fuller, with familiar cigar and horse sweat notes. Too hot on the palate though. The finish is medium. Overall, very good daily drinker.

Interesting mix of flavors. Can't decide if I am a fan or not (as a daily drinker) Solid fruit with cherry, blueberry, vanilla and moderate tannins. Also had some green vegetal flavors, but dominated by the fruit. Doesn't deserve the big scores, but worth trying another bottle or two.

Deep and dark ruby Absolutely fabulous nose, rich and complex, with hint of blueberries even However, on the palate, didn't match up - somewhat spoilt by a sense of rust on the finish With air, this hid itself better and it became more enjoyable, but to be honest I didn't drink much of it after that

Sweet dark fruits, herbs, vanilla and some wood on the pleasant nose. Full, round, lush on the palate, with dark plums and herbs, silky but tannic, slightly dry finish, a little heat. Not bad, modern style that might improve, but didn't do much for me this night. Saved a bit for the next day-wine turned harsh-No Thanks!
