Celler Cecilio, Priorat, Negre

The wood glue note from earlier this year is crawling into the ascendency on the nose, joined by a little volatility over the jubey black fruits. Juicy, savoury black fruit lozenge and red liquorice, slight alcohol warmth, rocky minerality and tannic burr persists long. Time to drink up.

Spanish fun day two (N&J's place, Canberra) : From Coravin. A little wood glue note blows off with time, sour black fruits smoky minerality, savoury spice,. Juicy, fleshy, black fruits are not so sour on the palate, rocky minerality, tannins are drying, chalky textured and woody and a little too much for the fruit. Hmm. Okayish.

Good dark colour. Some of that wet slate/broken rock smell I associate with the region. Not quite iodine edge. Palate is red berries and glacé cherry. Again texture is the highlight. Excellent. Update on night two. This is flat out delicious. That slight not quite liquorice flavour is entrancing.

TSA - Priorat; 8/28/2021-8/29/2021 (Zoom call) : From Coravin. Savoury and earthy, dark hued, brooding, slight liquorice, a sense of denseness on the nose. And that all translates to the palate. Savoury, earthy, almost saline...tight grippy, though relatively softly textured, tannins, alcohol warmth on the finish. Travels long. With time shows a little black hued fruit to accompany the sense of minerality and this translates to the palate. Robust. Time will help.
