It's my first time to try wines from Cigales region. It has a very unique style that isn't an international taste. You either like it very much or hate it a lot. It's very rustic and full of aroma of herbs, spices, wood, leather, mushroom. The usual taste of red fruits and dark fruits of tempranillo were almost hidden. Drank like herbal tea with a solid structure and power. Very smooth and silky texture. The finish was slightly bitter.

First off I wouldn't pay any attention to the 2008 window expiry on this one, because it is drinking very fine right now. Sweeter and very forward taste of blackberries than any tempranillo I've had previously. Needs a bit of time on opening, but after 15 or 20 minutes is in its prime.

After half of hours taking a breath, this bottle had fragant good woods aromas, licorice and very mature red/black berries. Bedyond that, you could find forest of weeds fragancies. In mouth, delicated and sweet sandalwood flavors with tamed tannins. Silked structure in any case. All of this, presented in a beautiful and decadent colour. Nicely matched with chicken …

Woodsy, mushroomy nose with a touch of juicy fruit. Light on tannins. A touch of berry and spice.
